We did a complete remodel of one of our bathrooms last summer. We are doing the master bath this summer. In last years remodel I had done a TON of research and selected a toilet from HD that had awesome reviews.
The plumber on our job told me he had a number of call backs on the toilet I had selected and recommended a Gerber Viper. Against my better judgment, I went with his recommendation and it's only "OK".
It doesn't always clean the bowel properly and often times it requires multiple flushes to do so...like 7-8. Whats the point of an "eco" toilet if end users are using double the water of the old inefficient toilets to get any remaining solids off?

Does anyone have any personal experience with the Glacier Bay I have linked?
We are also considering a Toto Drake but it is about double the cost and I have read recently Toto's are not what they used to be. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Glacier...ickid=0vmSikzzwxyJTb208lQuCVrSUkl0jYyFRzXHWo0

I bought something like that from lowes. Short flush eco friendly yadda yadda yadda.... I cant tell you the model, not home. But I figured out that ya gotta do a long flush (hold the handle) for a #2 and can get away with a short flush for the other. Reason I bought it is it's a high bowl. I'm getting old and my benderover dont work too good anymore. I'll let ya know what it is when I get to the house

I'm still rocking my 1994 toilets. Huge tank. Massive water volume dump with each flush. The benevolent imperial federal guvmunt politicians can go phvck themselves. Same dickheads who reduced the flow out of your shower head by 65%.

I prefer the Kohler toilets with the big flush valve like a Cimarron. They almost always swallow anything you put in them.

    Yup.

Or your Dad's needle nose pliers. I often carry a pair in the travel bag, along with a pair of adjustable pliers, and do a little mod'g of them f'n hotel shower heads.

I would look at either the Kohler brand or American Standard. I have the kohler in my office and the A/S are in my residence.

I see your shopping the HD. I’m not a fan of buying fixtures from them only because in order for them to have lower prices. They are not selling you the exact model as you find in a plumbing supply house. Your buying a cheaper revised version that is catered to the big box stores.

Shop-it on Build.com, most people aren’t aware but it’s a Mosley owned company that also owns Ferguson Plumbing and if you have a Ferguson plumbing close to you . You will be able to price match.

Well...you could always install a flushometer...aka the high pressure flush you see in restaurants and other commercial places.

However, you would need a 1" supply line for the toilet

I think it's going to be the Toto Drake. I called my local plumbing supply house (that is willing to sell to the public).
I can get the Drake in white, the color I want, for $184. Pretty damn good.

The sloan flushmate does not need a 1" supply line. my toilet came with one when i bought the house. It does the job every time.
