Hi guys! Firstly, thank you for a very informative forum.

I have a 17 Tundra and can't decide on 295/70r18 or 305/65r18. 18x9 +25s are on the way. I have a Toytec 3/2 Leveling kit installed. Any input/pics would be greatly appreciated.

I have 3/1.5, 18x9 +25 on Cooper STT pro 295 70 18. So really close. The STT Pros run a little big for the size. I had to remove mud flaps, trim and move the liner forward. It's barely clearing and I think I still need to make more room. But I'm clearing the cab mount by about 1/2".

X2. The perfect combo of size and width for a 3" lift IMO.

I have Nittos G2 295 70s and like them. But I'll probably go back to the Coopers STT 305s once its time to swap them out

I have a 75 series profile on mine because I think more rubber on the sidewall looks better on an offroad truck. I vote for the 295/70-18

305's. Why go smaller if you don't need too?

    I went 305's and wish I went 295's. 305/65 is shorter than 295/70. With a 3/2 lift the 305's kinda look small.

305/65/18 is only 33.6 inches in diameter. I vote for 295/70/18. I think in this size group, Nitto Trail Grappler is the tallest and Cooper is the widest. I think STT Pro and MAXX have the same width, if I remember correctly.

Glad you posted that. Looking at that, I'm going to need some bigger tires if I put that Toytec lift on. Don't want my truck looking like it skipped leg day.

Great....I'm glad your making the right decision under my expense. Now every time I look at my truck I'll think it missed leg day....:benchpress:
...I will def be getting 295's next time I need tires whenever that will be....

Have you considered 305/70r18? These are just shy of 35" but a little narrower ~ 12". This is what I will be going with next

Mostly for the Coopers but I'll be going to 305/70r18 which is about a 35" tire. I originally went with 295s due to clearance concerns and seems to be the preferred size on here. But then @Sean266 put his on and have been :jellydance: ever since

@Zharris don't forget to consider what tire you are going with. An A/T tire will be smaller than a M/T even though they are the same size. Check the manuf. website to see the actual diameter of the tire you want to run. Also check @joonbug build, he's on Toytec lift and he is running 295/70's.

I wrestled with the same question two months ago. After comparing the two tire sizes next to each other at Discount Tire (have a picture of them next to each other if you want to see) I ended up going with 18x9 +25 wheels like you mentioned and 295/70/18 Cooper ST MAXX. I love the tires! The look super aggressive, but ride pretty quiet. I also have a 3/1 leveling kit. Only modification needed was to remove the front mud flap. Easy!

I would like to see the pics of the tires side by side, please. I'm still debating what tires to get. I want 35s, but BFG has a 65 aspect ratio but I want 70 or more. I don't believe they make that size. So I have to pick before Friday.

I have the 295 70 18 Cooper Stt pro. I'm really close to the cab mount and am gonna need to chop it. I think it depends a little on what UCAs you go with. I've got Camburgs and their geometry moves the top of the coil over back farther than any other uca, at least that's what I've been told. I wouldn't wanna go wider 'cause that would exacerbate the rubbing issues in my case. I've got about a + 28 offset and a different offset might help me too.

You're right. I didn't realize that until after I bought my trail grapplers. Little bit wider than the ATs I tested on the truck. Luckily they still fit! Just a little bit closer than expected. Haha even the Toyota dealership said there was no way they'd fit. I'd gone through weeks of calculations and testing and told them put them on. They'd fit. Haha it's always important for anyone shopping tires to check the manufacturers website to see the actual tire size.

Ok sorry to beat a dead horse but with factory wheels on a 17 Trd pro will the 295/70r18 rub? Wanting to get a bigger tire but don't really want to cut or chop. I am getting mixed reviews some say they don't rub and others say do.

They will rub, in my personal experience. You need to remove mud flaps, front and rear, in front wheel well. I think you're ok with with the pro skid plate, You'll likely need to move the plastic liner forward and get 1.25" -1.5" wheel spacers.
