Just got some new wheels and tires installed yesterday and had to do a slight BMC to accommodate them. I was wondering if anyone else had similar issues with this tire? I was rubbing the body mount on the outer tread lugs.

I'm running a +20 Fuel vector wheel, 295/70r18 Cooper STT pro with an Eibach 2.5" coil-over setup. A 3" setup MAY have prevented it but it would've likely still been a few paper widths away (too close).

Edit: This is on a 2018 TRD Sport model.

Yeah those STTs run pretty big. Depending on your UCAs, you probably could’ve moved your wheels forward enough to clear with an alignment.

I'm no mechanic so I had no idea it was a possibility. Is that something that could be done with stock UCAs? It did seem to be worse after I got it aligned. I didn't go with a 3" lift in the first place because I wanted my alignment perfect; I had read of people having problems without aftermarket UCAs

I’m running 295/70R18 on cooper stt Pro. I have the same issue. Rubbing on the body mount just a hair but only on reverse. I have 2.5 fox coilovers.

Now that you mention it, it did seem to be only in reverse. It sounded horrible and I could see slight cuts on the lugs where it was rubbing on the tire. My body mount on the driver side was not welded entirely where it was rubbing so there was a sharpish lip that caused the minor gouging.

Another thing is when I do a full lock on reverse then I don’t rubbed at all, it’s only when I do a 3/4 reverse. I’m planning to do a body chop in future.

Yep a hard turn would've cleared mine too. I took a cutting wheel to the body mount; it actually turned out really well and I went over it with some paint to prevent rust. Eventually I'll get a plate welded in but for right now it'll do.

I'm running method +25 with stt maxx 295/70r18
On bilstien 6112s set at 1.9 inches 3rd setting.
I clear my body mount by 1/4 inch and I have not hit it yet.
I'm also surprised you're hitting I was planning on doing a bmc if mine didn't clear.

As long as your camber isn’t maxed out, it’s possible. Should give you more caster too. Takes a good alignment shop that knows what they’re doing.

Good call..I'll have to measure again from center wheel. If I have the same issue as this guy then I'll probably never order anything from Toytec again. I'm clearing now with the BMC but unfortunately now that I know it could be wrong, I'm going to have to fix it.

Sounds good. If your lift doesn't measure out... I would put a shim or two in there to help with clearance. Call toytec to confirm that is ok.

So would the stock trd rims (+60 I think) do ok with the 295 70s on a 3/1 level?

I doubt it. I'm guessing you'll rub on the UCAs but I could be wrong.
