Hey guys, I'm looking for an A/T tire, but dont really have a need for the E rating. A D rating drives smoother, and helps the mpgs a little. Tire manufacturers have recently released 285/75/17's (34x11.7)This is perfect for a leveled truck and the 8" wide Rock Warrior wheels. Does anyone know of a manufacturer that has this size in a D rating?

That's almost a 2" height difference. Have to go with the 75's

Might look into a LT load range C as well. They have more rating than what the Tundra can do.

I wanted a set of A/T's like I have now. But these look a lil bubbled on the sides from being a 295 on an 8"wheel. And I went from 17.7mpg to 12.8, that sucks.

Yeah, the 295's are a good size tire. I had them on my 05 CTD. They fit good on my factory 8" wheels though.

I too dropped from 22 mpg down to 17-19 mpg highway.

They didn't fit tooo bad, just not how I wanted them to. The 285 75's are taller still. They are 34" overall. I need tires, so I was considering these. That's all... I was hoping for less drag from a thinner profile, but still aggressive looking, and a bit taller overall... Win, win, win :\

Is it me or does it seem like there are less load range C & D tires available now days in different sizing? When I look for truck tires it was like either P Metric craptastic tires or LR E heavy ass tires.

I feel your pain. I run 4 different vehicles in my household and tires are getting to be a PITA.

Yea, we have 3 here, sport touring, small SUV and the Tundra. It's a damn fiasco every time we buy tires.

At least my Jeep is pretty straight forward. There are only several brands making 40" tires and sticky (race) compound. Only issue is paying for it.
