Seeing a lot of guys running 295’s on stock TRD PRO(2” TRD/Fox suspension lift), I’m also reading that there’s slight rubbing or close to. Has anyone ran 285’s/70r18? Does the size fit the truck? Also, I imagine there’s no rubbing on that size tire. Might just look a little too small?? I don’t know. What are y’all’s thoughts?

I’m running 285/75s on the stock Pro suspension. Added CB+2 for less squat which a load. Click the link below in my signature for pics.

Also, you could search the TRD Pro forum for 285/70 like this:

    Alot of them
The 285 and 295 are within 3/8 inch of each other. They are very close. The 295 is 10 lbs per tire heavier though.

@Marty McFly has that size I believe.

I am planning on this size as well when the stock Michelins wear out. Planning on going either bfg km3 or nitto ridge grapplers.

I’m running 285x65x18 on stock wheels with truck leveled with Bilsteins. Added bumper shims to avoid rubbing. So far so good.

I am running the 295-70-18 Ridge Grapplers on TRD Pro wheels. I had to trim 1" off the sides of the skid plate. I run a Body Armor winch bumper with Bilstein 6112's at 1.9". There is a CB 1/2" shim on the driver's side.
    I'm using factory UCA's.
Turning right no rubs, good clearance on sway bar. Turning hard left the tire barely touches the sway bar.
Hope this helps. Some just remove the swaybar, but with minor touching I'm keeping mine.
Update: Ordered a set of BORA 1.25" spacers
Upon members advice. I was able to move swaybar. No rubs!

Aren’t they also around 10lbs heavier per tire?
I run 285/70/18 Nitto Exo Grapplers with no issues. I did install Coachbuilder Bumper shim because if I backed out of my driveway on full lock they’d just rub.

285/70r18 Ridge Grapplers on stock TRD Off-Road. Like mentioned earlier, size is close to the 295’s yet they are 10lbs heavier per tire so that made my decision. And no rubbing at all.

Glad to see this. I want this size in these tires. How do you like the ride? Any noticeable noise increase? How's the throttle response?

I’m super late to the party lol I ran 285s for a long time and loved them. I did recently bump it up to 35s though. For what its worth, I am feeling the difference in mpg from 285s to 35s :annoyed:

Just curious what kind of gas mileage you getting with the 35’s. Yeah the only thing I’m planning on doing to get that wider stance is changing my wheels down the road with a different offset and still keep 285’s.

Hey Steve, Can you answer this since you are running spacers. I’m looking at keeping my 285’s on with aftermarket wheels with 18 off set which pushes the wheels out which puts the tire about a inch past the fender do you think the tires will rub? Are your tires rubbing anywhere? Thanks.

I can't say for certain as I really don't know what my offset is running the stock wheels with the 1.25" spacers.

With that said, when I first installed the new tires with the spacers, I had a slight rub on back fender skirt when turned left to full lock on the drivers front only. No rub at all on passenger side when locked in either direction. This remained for about 10,000 - 15,000 miles until tires wore some. I now have 44,000 miles on these tires with about 50% tread remaining.

It was a really slightly rub. No wear/damage to fender skirt or tire. I knew it would it go away as tires wore down which it did.

    Hope this helps...good luck!

Thank you. With your spacers your tires are out about a inch correct? I have a 21 Pro with same wheels so I may keep the stock wheels and add spidertrax 1.25 that’s if your tires are sitting about a inch out. I don’t want them out to far but I think the truck looks better with tire out just a little for that wider stance. Also you are running the same in the front and back 1.25 so your tires are the same distance sticking out? I also have 285’s.

Yes, running spacers front and rear. Tires poke about 1" as you mentioned. When I was younger, I preferred more poke (offset), however, as I've gotten older, I don't care for that look anymore. This gives it just enough to look a bit more "tough" or "rugged" versus stock.
