All, I posted this is my build thread but figured I’d start a new post since I haven’t seen this mentioned anywhere.

I couldn’t stand looking at my stock truck (Icon Coilover backordered a month +) so yesterday I went to Les schwab and we test fit a set of 275/65/20 toyo at 2’s (size I have ran for the past few years) and they fit with very minimal issues.

Mud flaps had been removed for fender flare install, skid plate was trimmed and bent slightly. Zero rub besides that

Thanks for posting. What type of fender flares are those? OEM or Bushwackers? How much do they stick out?

Had this size on my truck when I bought it used.
It’s much more cost efficient than the 285/55/20 that comes on some models.
I do however feel like the truck could use a regear to 4.88’s.

When I switched from Oe wheels to aftermarket the tires rubbed in a couple different spots than before. I had to remove the mud flap completely and also the small aero piece on the bottom of the front bumper.
I think it’s a great size to use. Tall but not too wide.

    That's on your stock suspension?

I’d like to go to this size. I am leveled, 1.9 up front and am going with a +25 offset wheel. I wondering if I will be good?

That combo gives your truck a nice clean look. The TRD sport or platinum or whatever they are wheels are really growing on me. Thanks for sharing.

    You’ll be fine.
May have to remove mud flaps.

I have found that this tire size falls into the "sweet spot" of not having to do too many adjustments to make it fit.

I have been thinking about 4.88’s though.

Why do you need to re-gear? I have never felt underpowered with this tire size and may even try a 285/65/20 next time.

Need to? Probably not. But I do think it would help in town in 4th or 5th gear.
Guys with 35’s are going 4.88’s so there’s not much difference there.

I tow a lot and have definitely thought about a regear with this tire size.

I've got this size and I regeared to 4.88's. IMO a huge improvement for everyday driving and a game changer for towing.

I pick up my 2020 trd sport next week and I am having 275/65/20 ko2's installed before I take delivery. I noticed this video on YouTube and it looks like the front skid plate no longer has the tabs or ears that the tires usually rub on.
Have a look from 39 seconds on. See what the consensus is on here. Maybe the angle is deceiving, Either way I'll know for sure next week

Most likely trimmed them off, I was lazy and bent mine with pliers. New suspension is going on next week!

You saying the 2020 looks like Toyota revised (cut off) the part that usually rubs?

I didnt watch the video, assumed they had trimmed it off. Looking at the video it appears they have changed the skid plate?

That's what I thought (changed skid plate) but I have only owned Tacoma's and a 4runner so no experience with tundra.

Now that I put on 275/65/20 Cooper AT3 XLT, it rubs the TRD sway bar at full lock.

Have the same tire and size on my truck but its lifted. I primarily had to go this size because I have lift spindles that kick the wheels out. The offset of that plus the rims offset was too much for a bigger tire without a ton of trimming. Great tire size if you want something bigger while not having to sacrifice performance or stock feel
