25 years ago today, 18 American soldiers lost their lives during the Battle of Mogadishu, better known as Black Hawk Down. This includes Gary Gordon and Randy Shughart, who died defending the crew of one of the downed choppers, and were later posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor. God bless our soldiers, and the families of the men who died that day.

I was a little over one year old when it happened, so I have no memory of it. But with all the things that’ve happened in the world since, I imagine it feels like a giant blur.

I want to revive this thread because it should not be forgotten. I can t say how accurate the movie was to the real events, but all I know is, the two times I watched it, it pissed me off to no end. The second time I couldn t watch the whole thing. That whole thing was a lousey deal, and my hat s off to the men who endured it; whether they survived it, or not.:hattip:
