Mentioned in another section about trading my 2017 Tundra in 10-years for a 2027. (Family budget committee won't approve new vehicle capital funds until then...even if I'm walking to work)

Got me to thinking, my last vehicle was an '05 Buick SUV and so the new Tundra feels full of technology. Even if some say it's dated.

The '18 Tundra already has new enhanced safety features compared to the '17. What do you, truly the experts to a newbie like me, think will happen?

My guess: Toyota has by far the best hybrid system out there. So, a Tundra hybrid with huge low end torque (where electrics thrive) and assistance at higher speeds hitting 30-mpg.

Just a thought on a rainy Tuesday afternoon...

@Marty McFly can go into the future and check it out. Marty, what do you see?

Not sure what the hell 1.21 gigawatts is, but maybe that could be an option package.

In the future, MGMs are banned due to lack of sales and popularity. It's true, I actually saw it

    New windshield wipers....just getting started
LOVE the "transformer" idea and thought, but would likely be a very pricy option. Plus, the government regulations would likely prevent a "carnage" setting.

My guess; semi-autonomous driving with more sensors, hybrid, possible diesel, and longer bed for the CM.

I think, a lot of the decisions for 2020 will be up to the price of gasoline. The truck market is blazing hot right now with gas at $2.50 a gallon. If gas hits $5 again that market will drop rapidly and they will have to rush toward fuel economy. Right now Toyota has a solid and proven system which is making them money and redesigns are expensive.

REALLY looking forward to seeing the 2020 redesign.

Hold the Line! If you are not holding the line, abandon your ship. Destruction is inevitable without more to hold the line!
    Gross!
I am betting not. Emissions requirements keeps getting more and more stringent, they will have to come up with something that is more fuel/emissions efficient.
