Came across this, this morning and didn't see it mentioned anywhere on here. Thought owners and future buyers might be happy to hear about it. Skip to the 50 second mark. My wife is crossing her fingers that her new Venza might get the same update.

Was posted a few weeks ago when it came out. I think the infotainment and computer updates will be a lot more beneficial.

Fantastic news for Tundra owners. Wonder if they could do this for the Gen 2.5 trucks?

Looks like there is hope for the Tundra. However, doesn't sound like 2022's will get it.

This needs to happen. Shutting the truck off is annoying. Furthermore we should be able to set run time in the Truck Settings/App for 5,10 or 15 mins.

Can they? Absolutely. Will they? I seriously doubt it. At least they learned for later models. I hope the moron who decided to shut the truck off when you open the door is looking for a job.

That's exactly how the good aftermarket systems work. I had DEI on my 2009 Tacoma and yes, you had to turn the key "on" and then you could drive off. That was part of the security... if you pressed the brake before you turned the ignition on, the engine would die. Made sense and worked perfectly... on that system that I installed in 2009. Maybe Toyota will catch up by 2025? Not holding my breath.

Unfortunately on this and many other issues, Toyota is NOT listening. They just do what they want. For mysterious reasons. One of which must be that they like to piss off their best customers. Near as I can figure.

I am sure they read these forums to some extent. But hearing (reading) and listening (doing something) are two different things. Otherwise this would have been fixed at least a decade ago... and I would have had a buyback for my supposedly soon to be flying off the truck tonneau cover. LOL.

Only in a version of life where a mfg doesn't listen to its customers or provide decent customer service. It doesn't have to be that way, but, alas, it is. This is strictly a choice made by Toyota. They are not winning any excess loyalty from me.

For my first Japanese vehicle, and first Toyota, i definitely expected more. Between the door rattling during music, creaking driver seat, and lack of some decade old features like a useful remote start, I'm not yet sure this was a better option over the Tremor or Ram Limited.

Although cool factor is still top tier, so that assuages all inconveniences

This is my second Japanese vehicle and my second Toyota. After selling my 15 year old Tacoma 2 months ago I was one of the biggest Toyota fans ever. So far the experience with my 2023 Tundra has unraveled a lot of that goodwill. In just 2 months. What is even stranger is that Toyota doesn't even seem to care. IOW they are just going the way of all the other penny pinching sleazebag mfgs. If not for the usually outstanding resale value I'd go get something else. But the way things are going that resale value assumption might also be going down the toilet.

I had a dream... but then I woke up and remembered I was driving a Toyota.
