That’s the question - when is it going to pop? I’m told by several this will go into 2023. Ford has ramped back production recently.
If I didn’t need the truck I have I’d sell every vehicle I own and just wait, but no knowing how long to wait.

I also read we may be reaching a tipping point where customers just aren’t going to pay these ridiculous markups anymore. That’s the only reason it’s still going on, people are willing to pay way over MSRP. Once you see dealers pulling back on pricing you’ll know it. A lot of it is the FOMO phenomenon.

It'll start changing when people go to trade in their vehicle in the next couple years. Those people who paid $5K, $10K, $15K or more in mark up are going to get one hell of a reality check when they find out how underwater they are. Up until the last couple years, these extreme mark ups were usually limited to higher end vehicles like lower production sports cars and trucks. The folks who paid them could usually afford the hit and know what they're getting into. However, now you have huge mark ups on run of the mill vehicles like RAV4s, Tundras, F150s and other family vehicles. The types of people who pay mark ups on basic bitch vehicles generally aren't the type to keep vehicles long term nor the most financially literate. They do it because they want a new car now, and "can't" wait. They don't understand that paying $10K more for a vehicle doesn't make it worth more. A new car with a MSRP of $40K that has a trade in value of $30K in a year won't be worth $40K next year just because you paid $50K due to a $10K mark up.

There should be a law like in Canada where they cant do markup.. heck, its not like the dealer owners are poor.

The "bad apples" in the auto sales industry will try shady tactics right in front of your face. Can't imagine any of them deleting their markups from the list or adding a competitor to the list with a high markup... Thanks for creating this list. It will definitely save time and hassle for potential buyers.

BTW y'all, when you contact a dealer and ask about ADM, just because they say there's no ADM doesn't mean anything when you try and make a deal.
ADM and "dealer add-ons" are 2 different things, so don't forget to ask about add-ons also, they can be as bad as ADM.

Agree - the shady ones will mince words. Just ask for the out the door price so you know everything…ADM, add-ones, doc/admin fees, etc.

I keep thinking it’s crazy that these markups are out there, but it’s crazier that people are paying them.

Price limits on vehicles? I think that kind of practice has been done before and found to not work out so well.

In USA the dealership can just look you in the eye and say $5k ADM. And/or they can put add-ons and accessories to also drive up the price.

In Canada, as I have been reading, it's true they can't arbitrarily add "ADM" but I have read they can pre-load a vehicle with dubious dealer "add-ons" and I heard some dealers in Canada insisting on extended warranties.

So, it's not that much better for our northern friends.

At the end of it, it all boils down to individual buyer. But I for one will not pay above msrp.

It boils down to the individual making the decision.
Dealers can charge what they want.
    It is a free market.

This has nothing to do with your stupid “signed letter”.
For you to not only tag me, but also try and make it seem that this was the same thing that you mentioned, is ignorant and shows how butt hurt you were by someone’s comments.

    try moving on bro.

I'm in an agreement with them for a limited at MSRP on a future allocation
they put on window tint, wheel locks etc and charge about $800 for it if the vehicle lands on the lot and they have to time to install them.

If you are able to intercept that process and buy the vehicle as soon as it arrives, then those add-ons can be waived.

I've been on the hunt and wanted to add Charles Maund Toyota (78758) to the list (Austin, TX), 5k ADM on all trucks. Attached is one of their trucks with all the specs and their adm.
    Edit:
Toyota of Dallas (75234) 5K ADM
Toyota of Boerne (78006) 5k ADM
    Bruner Toyota (76802) MSRP

    yeah, 20 mins south I saw a 4x4 SR5 with $1.3k addon that's unsold at Autonation Toyota
and further out to Leander, you have Toyota of Cedar Park selling everything at MSRP, I don't see how anyone would want to shop at Charles Maund if they keep that shit up

Has to be one of the worst deals I've seen in central TX, it's as basic as an SR5 gets... All those fees are probably going towards paying the lawyers of Mr. Maund after hiring hitmen to kill his mistress.
Feds say Texas car dealer hired hitmen to kill mistress and blackmailer (nbcnews.com)

Just got off the phone with Lithia Toyota in Abilene = no markeup but adds $999 climate package to every vehicle which includes nitrogen in the tires , fancy antifreeze, and whale foreskin or some other silly add on. The air we breath is 78% nitrogen so the high cost is understandable

It replaces the trim on the front seats and on the platinum and 1794 you get full foreskin on front and rear seats so maybe in the upper trims it might make sense.
