Purchased new 2022 tundra limited 12/28. <500 miles currently. Driving to work this AM. Check engine light comes on. Notification for "Parking support brake malfunction" and "Grille shutter malfunction".

Also, noticed fluctuating oil pressure since purchase. Read that this is normal with tundras. Stays around 1/4 while idle or coasting. Rises to around 1/2 with acceleration.

Take it to the dealer. Not enough experience with the new ones yet to even begin to guess.

Air dam was stuck up. Easy fix. Basically fixed itself through computer diagnostics. Sensors automatically turn off when engine light is triggered. Oil gauge fluctuation is normal. Hopefully one time thing and just needs some time to fully break in.

Is it cold where you are? Is it possible the air dam iced up?

I have noticed a few “needs to break in” things like fuel gauge getting stuck, oil pressure sensor sticking.

I had the check engine light come on in mine in the same timeframe as yours, no other messages though initially. I took it to the dealer and they figured out the code was for a closed turbo wastegate. Same thing happened where the code was reset and all was well, or so we thought because when I drove it home from the dealer the check engine light came back on, this time with the "Parking support brake malfunction" message too. I was hoping it was something easy like yours, but it's taking a while to hear back. Just wanted to share another experience for people searching the early check engine light. FWIW the oil gauge on mine acts the same and they said it's fine, so maybe it is normal.

I wanted a faster vehicle so I also bought a Chevy SS... because 4 door sedans with big V8’s are hilarious.
Oil pressure should increase with an increase in engine speed. Oil pressure is your friend.

If you step on the go pedal and oil pressure stays low you have major problems.

In retrospect, this was the only time it came on. I now have 3700 miles and no issues.

About once a week I contemplate cancelling the 4Runner order and rolling the dice on a Tundra, then more check engine light posts like this and waste gate issues. The Tundra looks nicer every time I look at it but I will wait a few years and see how the reliability is. The new Sequoia is a beautiful truck as well, that will most likely be out of my price range though:(

My truck is at the dealer waiting on some higher support to figure out the problem. I had a LTA malfunction, parking brake support malfunction and many others. Supposedly I’m the first one and Toyota is stumped. As far as the other issues you’re having, I haven’t experienced any. I have approximately 2300 miles

The issue I’m having is supposedly new, but the wastegate turbo issue is supposedly with a small batch of trucks. Even though mine is in the shop and I’m driving a hybrid minivan, I don’t have any regrets, yet LOL. We had a Highlander on order but the VIN changed and it came in silver instead of white. But....I’m ok with it since the Sequoia is around the corner. I’ll be calling my car guy to hold off and wait for the Sequoia

Toyota has no idea what’s going on at the moment and they’re working on it. I bet it takes them a week or more with my truck to figure it out. Based on my phone alerts, they were messing with my truck late in the afternoon. Hopefully that means the field rep arrived.

My check engine light came on for the parking support brake malfunction. Was that fixed through computer calibration? It came on while driving home from Big Bend where I drove through snow, ice, and did a fair amount of off roading. Was thinking it may have something to do with a dirty sensor

Yes. It went off when the air dam malfunction was fixed. I was told that the parking support brake malfunction is programmed anytime a CEL is triggered. The only code I had with the computer was the “grille shutter malfunction” which was a stuck air dam.

Grill shutter is not the air dam though. Was the grill shutter stuck in some position?

I had the same malfunction plus a few others and the dealer replaced my radio and reprogrammed DCM. So far it hasn’t happened again. Supposedly my truck was the first one with the malfunction. Toyota has the data so they can share throughout.

I have a 2022 tundra SR5 that has 562 miles and the check engine light just came on. Shows two codes, malfunction in electronic control of the engine or transmission and the other code shows advanced ultrasonic detection issue.

The earliest appointment the dealership had was March 2, I’ll post whatever they find.

Yes, it seems to drive fine. I just drove it back to my house from work. It’s now displaying “parking support malfunction “
