So purchased as a "have to be able to get to work no matter what the weather" only vehicle in February of 2022. It had 25,673 miles and was purchased through a dealer chain that had a Toyota store where it was sold originally and then through the Chevrolet dealer where I picked it up.

Traded a 2020 Dodge Charger Scat Pack that was not fulfilling the mission at hand of being able to get anywhere in any weather. Was a lot of fun at the dragstrip in Atco, NJ and a couple out in the Midwest when I visit my sons but whenever it snowed, not so much.

    So let the "build" begin:

After continually finding new ways to drop either my work or personal cell phones all over the truck at all the wrong times, I invested in the first of the interior "mods," the Weathertech cupfone holder thingy. Not gonna lie, might be the most successful addition I'll make as the phone has never even come close to falling anywhere.

    AM-JKLVAVOP0A-ws4ieGr0yhXlUD7vvlKaZK2qQY_f2dcef33937410a20f66cdbe5ecbfba701aa9d13.jpg

Figured I'd put the mod list here so I can remember what order I did things without having to staple a sticky note to my forehead:

    • Removed "SX" bedside decals
    • Weathertech front mats, underseat storage system and "cupfone"
    • Center console tray
    • BDS 3" suspension lift/UCAs/Fox shocks
    • BFG KO2 LT275/70R18
    • Go Rhino RB20 slimline running boards
    • "TUNDRA" tailgate inlay
    • "Matched" front bumper ends to unpainted center section
    • Painted tow hooks and engine cover
    • Bedliner spray to underside behind running boards
    • Replaced driver switch assembly to gain "auto up" and lights
    • Wrapped rear bumper ends with matte black
    • 3Wliners auto up/down window module kit
    • Valhalla front and rear cat shields/skid plates, 1/4" powder coated aluminum
    • Matte black overlays on either side of radio
    • Toytec rear differential breather tube
    • J&L Oil Separator
    • Matte black overlays on steering wheel
    • Diode Dynamics Elite Series Yellow Light, amber backlit fog lamps
    • Valhalla front skid plate 1/4" powder coated aluminum
    • Front camera with FRAC harness
    • Black Label 20" light bar behind grille
    • YotaLeds "Raptor" amber grille lights
    • Added matte black hood vinyl
    • Tufskinz "Tundra" radio overlay - American Flag
    • LED headlight upgrade with @iHacker harnesses
    • OEM bedrails and cleats
    • Window tint, 15%

Latest pics in last posts of the thread.

Next up was another "five wrencher" on the 1 to five scale, the weathertech floor mats. Love these things too. A 2017 Shelby GT350 that I bought used had them in and was my first experience. Put them in every vehicle since.

Then it was Weathertech's underseat storage to keep goodies from flopping around while doing their best impression of my pre cupphone holder phones

First night I drive by to show my folks the new ride and while admiring my father's immaculately groomed front lawn, I managed to curb the right rear. So when I got to a point that I could even look at it without wanting to punch myself in the face, I cleaned it up and hit it with some spray paint. Now only I know it's there unless you really look for it. While I was waiting in between coats, I removed the "SX" badges. I know, these "mods" are pretty impressive but you too can reach this level if you aim high enough.

With the impression that certain parts of a previously owned 2012 Raptor left on me, I decided that it was worth it to upgrade the suspension a bit as the truck just needed more aggressive tires and to be a bit higher off the ground. Missed seeing those Fox shocks I guess.

Ordered the parts online and scheduled to have it done at Finishline Auto in Lumberton, NJ.

Here's before and after the 3" BDS suspension lift that included Fox shocks, BDS UCAs and differential spacers/drop? Also added were BFG KO2s, 33". As in another thread I started, I was concerned with the height if I went any bigger on either suspension or tires due to a parking garage I use daily for work in Philadelphia. When I look at it, it screams for a little more tire but as the final picture shows, it would have been disastrous as far as the garage is concerned.

Now, with just the 3" lift and KO2s, it was an exercise move to get my 5'8" self into the thing. Although it was originally delivered with running boards, they didn't make the journey when it was traded into the dealer. So with a nod to the previously mentioned Raptor, I ordered a set of GoRhino RB20 slimlines and my father and I installed em. That's pop, cleverly edited out of the bottom picture.

Decided that the tailgate was looking a little bare so in went the "TUNDRA" overlay.

Now I'm pretty happy with it as far as the more major things but couldn't decide if I liked the white painted front bumper ends with the black center or maybe color match the center or just get unpainted ends to match the black? So I threw one black end on to see for a few days. Decided that I actually think I like the all black for now but didn't rule out changing to all white at some point in the future.

Just my opinion, I vote for the white front bumper ends.

A few years ago I taught myself how to reload ammo, specifically 5.56 for my ARs as prices went crazy when Barack was in office. After that, every time I thought about doing things, I would refer back and figure, if I could learn to make ammo that worked this well, surely I can do stuff that should be easier, like vinyl graphics for one. Did some customizing on my plain red F150 STX with the digital "splash" on the bed and the matte black hood vinyl addition:

    vHY0CZ4IQS3L6dPPKNNWsQNtkIb38mSWcOldfriL_5ebee567373fbdd18db18372a7934287a7a8d443.jpg

And added a touch of color around the black graphics on the aforementioned Raptor a couple years later:

    JRw2fDMIJME9G0EoxNkoqSOi_sbFt-5CzyVbXhCl_e0745ed4e632cf722f2c10e45633192d91169b77.jpg

So next up on the Tundra is wrapping the rear bumper painted white portions to get it all one color like the front. If you've read this far, God bless you, I'm sure you can barely contain yourself as this thread is every bit as entertaining as the Blue Ribbon 4x4 Build Thread. I'm sure @BlueRibbon4x4 will look on in wonder and amazement at the depth and breadth of my skills; skill, talent?

Oh wait, can't forget the "custom" stripe on the Charger I put on:

So first attempt at wrapping the rear bumper end yesterday after installing full set of RCI skid plates on Dad's Tacoma. It's the definition of "looks good from afar, but it's far from good." Gotta get back on youtube and see how one navigates the vinyl around bends. I think I started with too small a piece and should have done it on a warmer day. Pretty much went wrong from the start. Dropped it a few times, got dirt behind it and decided to finish it up if for no other reason than just practice before I try again. Peeled it off after taking a couple pictures. Will revisit when temps come up a bit and I've done some "learnin" on the 'Tube wrapping tutorials:

If it wasn't so bad it would be good!

Wasn't warm enough to try the bumper end wrap again so I did some painting: behind the running boards where the white has always looked unfinished to me and sprayed the "GoRhino" silver tag on the running boards with bedliner spray; tow hooks with red plasti dip and some good ol rattle can for the engine cover.

Reused the paper from the underside spray to mask around the tow hooks:

Replaced driver side window switch assembly to gain the "auto up" instead of only having "auto down" and it's also lighted which I didn't realize how much I missed from previous vehicles.

Much better outcome the second time around with wrap to get rear bumper ends to match center section:

Two keys to wrapping the rear bumper ends; one was removing the plastic "step" on top so I could tuck it up underneath instead of having to cut it perfectly so you couldn't see white. Second was knowing the proper direction to stretch the vinyl necessary to bend around the "corner" as it wants to bunch up at the bottom where the bumper end angles back in toward the vehicle.

Had some sheets of inexpensive carbon fiber look vinyl around. Thought I'd try something to cover the silver next to the radio console area. Not very good vinyl evidently as it was fighting me the whole time, didn't stick or stretch well. Lesson learned, use good vinyl to start. Lots of crinkles that didn't seem to want to come out. I'll probably leave it until I decide to do something else.

Peeled that silly faux carbon fiber off, waiting on matte black trim spray for take two on that project. in the meantime, attacked the original, unlit driver window switch and only auto down feature.

Previously replaced the driver's window switch assembly to get auto up and down on driver window and lighted switch.

Today, installed 3Wliners auto up/down module kit hoping it would work without running wire to battery. Probably expectedly, it didn't work and at the time I didn't want to take the time to run the wire to the battery. "Spoke" with COTundie about what a pain it was to run the wire the right way, through the rubber boot that the factory door wiring uses. I didn't trust that I wouldn't jack something up so, full disclosure, I did not run the power wire to the battery through the boot. Instead, I fished it through where the door check and hinges are, into the front fender and up and around to the battery. Going to wrap with a little rubber sheathing to keep it from getting wet where it is exposed between the fender and door. If it lasts, great; if it doesn't I regroup.

In the meantime, now have the lighted driver side switch and auto up/down on all four windows and got the bonus of all four windows up and down from the remote.

Installed the front and rear Valhalla cat protection/skid plates. Install was very straight forward and I added the pentagon bolts and rockhard dome/washers for some added protection. Really like the way these look and sure do make it more challenging to get at the converters. With Pop's help and the pdf of the install from the Valhalla shield thread, it was a breeze. Little easier working under my slightly lifted Tundra as opposed to Dad's stock Tacoma, that's for sure.

After the carbon look vinyl disaster, I put on overlays next to the radio and installed a Toytec rear differential breather tube.

Thank you. I'm not exactly the rock crawling type but I do enjoy a few quick trips into the Wharton State Forest on occasion. Down here there's some access that's barely 25 minutes from home. I don't get too adventurous though as it's usually just me and getting stuck would be a problem.

Installed the J&L oil separator. Getting their reinforced hose onto the pcv nipple is the only even remotely difficult part of the install. Visiting my sons next week, going to try to get my youngest to help me install the FRAC harness and front camera that's sitting in a box at the moment.
