Would either truck be better for towing a 5000lb travel trailer?

From what I've heard, the Sport might be a bit better as it comes with the rear sway bar. However, you can add that to any truck for $500 so it's not a big deal either way.

Hood scoop on the sport allows for additional air flow to the engine while towing.

LoL no it doesn't. It's a dummy scoop. Unless you were trolling, then , well done. Hahaha

The payload is not going to be a hill of beans different between the Sport and OR. Couple hundred pounds, max. The Sport IMO rides stiffer as it was intended to.

Either is fine. OR comes with 18 inch wheels, Sport with 20s and rear sway bar. Sport will ride tighter on the road, 20 inch wheels will ride harder than 18s. I would suggest the rear sway bar, but that can be added to any Tundra for a couple hundred bucks.

So, really any Tundra with the 5.7 will be a fine TV for a trailer in the 5k lb range.

The sport shocks and front struts are valved for better handling. The OR has softer valving for better off road performance. Sport would have a slight advantage towing.

    Good luck.

I tow a 22' Airstream with my 18 Sport. Kicks ass. It also handles really well for a big truck. I've resisted a Toytec lift because I'm scared to mess up the handling. It's our TV and family hauler and becoming my DD.

Your right that lifts and towing don't play well together.
