As thread indicated, this is a document of my experience and my obsession with modifying things with this truck.

    Currently the truck has:

    Engine:
    - Stainless works long tube headers, custom mid pipe with factory cats, x pipe, trd dual exhaust.
    - Snivspeedshop HPtuner tune
    - Magnuson 1900 Supercharger kit
    - Snivspeedshop 2.30 Modular Pulley
    - 750cc injectors
    - Deatschwerk 340lph fuel pump
    - SDHQ secondary pump breather kit
    - SDHQ battery terminal kit
    - @Coupe billet battery tie down

    Drivetrain:
    - Genuine Cooling System Transmission cooler kit
    - B&M Transmission pan
    - IPT Valve body
    - Nitro 5.29 gears front & rear
    - Powertrax grip pro rear lsd
    - DIY diff breather

    Suspension:
    - Stoptech ST60 front brake kit
    - TRD Sway bars
    - Bilstein 8112 front
    - Bilstein 8100 bypass rear
    - Icon Billet UCA
    - Deaver U748 springs
    - Firestone airbags and Daystar cradles

    Wheels/tires:
    - Fifteen52 Turbomac HD Classic 17x8.5 ET0
    - BFG KO2 37x12.5r17 C-load

    Interior:
    - CF TRD shifter
    - CF handle and steering wheel inlays
    - ESP underseat storage
    - Desert Recon seat riser
    - Tech12Volts Hertz door speakers
    - Tech12Volts JBL 8 channel amp
    - Tech12Volts dual JBL 10" ported sub
    - Sound proofed
    - Meso Interior kit

    Various little things:
    - Trail edition tool boxes
    - Hi-Rev taillights
    - @602runner billet tie downs.
    - coach builder bumper shim
    - BMC
    - Caliraised bumper light bar
    - AMP research Powerstep XL

I wanted a TRD Pro for a while, but as life happens, it takes a while to come to a full circle to get what you want.

When my wife got her 4runner TRD Pro, I just liked the way it drove and the cool color, by the time my mind is made up, there was one 2020 TRD Pro in Army Green left in Ontario, I was set to get it until the wife brought up its slightly weird that both are the same color, so I told my dealer I'll go for the Lunar Rock, I figure if its a TRD Pro, might as well get the special color since this will be last year of the V8.

The wait was long, there was lot of unexpected delays due to Covid and lack of supply of Tundras in Canada, but I finally got it on November 8th, 2020

I asked for 2 things before delivery, one was tint, another one was my 285/75r18 Yoko X-AT tires, I had great experience with the X-AT and I did not want to do BMC for a while.

My goal with this truck is OEM + , everything must make the truck better in one way or another.

The first week I had the truck, I loved everything about it, I thought I would miss my Rebel, but I didn't.

This truck is my daily driver, first thing I noticed was how much more agile it is in snow compare to my Rebel, its strange consider they weight the same, both on the same tires, one thing was, I couldn't disable traction/stability control on the Rebel, I would have to pull a fuse.

So the first mod I did was S&B intake, I liked the sound it made, it actually changed the exhaust tone in some odd way, but we suspect it may causing an issue on my truck with P2441 code for the air pump.

This is one of my favorite add-on, Trail Edition boxes.

I was able to buy this off the forum, we do not get these in Canada and it's somewhat to the ram boxes, which was very useful to me, I always keep some basic recovery gear and basic set of tools with me, so no they have a place to sit without sliding around in the bed.

It still allows a full size skid to sit in between the boxes, and so far have survive quite few heavy objects in the back.

I had added the billet tie down from @602runner , they do make things look nice, and more strap down points.

Then my next project was long tube headers.

I think for Tundras, we are lucky there are various choices, I went with Stainless works because I've seen their stuff in person before and liked the quality, I try to buy the best product I can afford to keep potential issues low, as an advice, don't go for the catted version, their 3" aftermarket cats make the truck stink, it was as if I was running straight pipes, and I couldn't figure out how to disable the O2 sensor codes, I tried just about every type of foulers there were and nada, so get the straight pipe version, and be prepare to fab up your own mid pipe section, this is not an easy job, but thankfully my exhaust guy @ GT Customs knew what's up.

I installed the headers myself with a help with a buddy, it was tedious, time consuming (took 2 days), BUT I wanted to make as much power as possible while using regular gas (since some places I go have no premium options), majority of time was spent looking for dropped tools, bolts etc, Keith DirtyDeed's website has a good description of tools you need, my only addition to that is get ratchet wrench in 10mm and 12mm, made life easier.

    The quality was definitely there.

And you definitely feel the power gain, how much? I don't know for sure, some say 20whp, some say 40whp, I say I'm satisfied with the gain.

If you have a lift, it'll be easier, I do not know how some could have done it without removing the front wheels, I would've removed the UCA now think about it.

Driver's side was a major pain

After all that, it was LOUUUUUDDDD, above 3500rpm will just wake up everyone within 1mile radius, so I took it to GT Customs and had Mike fab up custom mid pipes using the OEM Cats, and an x pipe, I left the rear section stock, after all that, it was beautiful, it sounded like a stock AMG, it even got rid of the helicopter sound when stock.

Here are some photos as the exhaust sit since, the truck sees a lot of dirt roads.

    This is for the brakes.

I bought a set of ST60 OEM-sized kit off this forum, it was in great shape, but StopTech tend to have issue with clearcoat peeling after a while:

I had them redone at Midwest Calipers near me, there was some miscommunication error, so instead of red it was done in black, but once I saw them in person, I was satisfied with the work, the front calipers are totally rebuilt, while they rebuild a set of rears for me and powdercoated them to match, I had requested clearcoat so I can ceramic coat them.

We are now at one of the more important mods I wanted to do.

Re-gearing, I'd like to stay N/A as long as I can keep the supercharger desire away, re-gearing a Tundra is not commonly done in Ontario, I had dropped off the truck at dealership in hope it can be done, but they ran out of couple specialized tools that's currently back order until end of the year, so I decided to send the front clamshell and the 3rd member to Zuk/Ken.

I also had my gears REM polished and cryo treated by Jamie @ https://www.racegearbox.com/

My experience from Ken has been one of the most amazing one so far in terms of automotive workmanship, he had filled me in during every step, include how to properly pack the parts, I would not hestitate to send more diffs to him, you can read up more on his wisdom here:

    http://gearinstalls.com/

He filled me in on when they arrive, and what he received with photos

The process and shims he used

How he was able to get the proper contact patch

And his recommendation of proper OEM seal (right) vs one came with the kit (left)

I wish 50% of my interactions were like this.

Truck is coming along nicely. Looks great. How do you like the 285/75r18 Yoko X-AT? Noisy, snow traction, etc... I'm considering that exact tire and size this go around.

I like them enough that I bought them twice.

Noise, it's noisier than the tread pattern suggest, I think it's due to load index, keep in mind this size with the X-AT its load index 129, which I wanted that since I'm often in the field so a stiffer sidewall is important.

For snow, its great, better than Duratrac on the fluffy stuff, same on the slushy stuff, ice its a hard call since I try not to venture out solo when it's icy out.

    On fluffy snow.

This is an access to a canoe launch, it's all ice, I had no issue backing out.

    I also liked how it's a true 35" OD and weights 66lbs

Took a while, but I finally got the truck back.

I also had the dealer to put on the Roadmaster Active Suspension.

I think it raised the rear by a good inch or two, slightly firmer on really rough roads.

    Brakes are on:

I had also gotten the transmission cooler kit from Nick:

Most important of all, the re-gear is finished, I'm very happy to say there's no noise, Powertrax works as designed, overall I'm very happy.

drove a lot over the weekend , my hand calculated mpg has gone up quite a bit during normal driving, I'm hitting 16mpg on average, where before was 12-15mpg, one trip I was able to get almost 18mpg while hauling 700lbs of stuff in the bed, avg speed on that trip was 55-60mph, I really can't say enough good things about re-gearing the truck.

The RAS also perform better than I expected, so money well spent, the truck didn't sag with 700lbs of stuff.

    I really love this thing

I've noticed humidity in the tails for a while, but then turned into fish tank when it rains, turns out both taillights are cracked for some odd reason, so went with Hi-Rev tails, install was easy, and clear lenses match better than I thought.

Regear was a pain logistically, if I was to do it all over again, I'd reach out to Ken/Zuk and buy gears and REM/cryo package off him, then see if he can get 3rd member and front clamshell, have him do all that, send over, take it to dealer and swap, swapping diffs should not take more than 8 hrs, that way I would've saved a lot of money on shipping.

    What I did was:
    - bought gears and powertrax, all shipped to me in Canada
    - had my gears REM polished and cryo done locally.
    - brought truck to dealer, they took everything off and realize a shortage on the tools needed for it to work.
    - shipped 3rd member, front clamshell, gears, powertrax to Ken/Zuk
    - shipped all those back to me, then brought them to dealership.

That process took almost a month because of shipping delays.

BUT, it changed the way the truck drove , I never driven it on stock tires, so I don't know what I miss out on power, now it hauls butt, on the hwy it hauls as well.

RAS is really a much better choice for most than bags, I towed 5000lbs another day with no sag and no affect when offroading.

I seem to have missed this, but what did you re-gear it to? Also, did you start w/ the TRD tow package gearing from stock?

I regear it to 5.29, we only have 4.30 ratio in Canada, there was no option.

Nice work Sam! Trail boxes are my favorite thing I added my truck too.

Those calipers look so nice! They're the same from the toyota kit (PTR0900150), right? How did the install go? and any issues with the ABS/drivability? I've been eyeing them for a while now.

you guys got better looking trucks lol.

It's a SOS (not speed of science) kit https://sosperformance.com/ , Thomas is very helpful, keep in mind TRD kit uses 400mm so you have to use 20" wheels, I want to stay with 18"s or try to fit 17s if possible, so I went with just calipers kit.

Install was easy, need to grind a bit on the factory caliper mounts for clearance and no issue with ABS, it brakes great now when towing.

Oh good to know. I didn't see an option to keep the OEM rotor size on their site. I'll reach out ang get more info. How did you go about bleeding the system?

Part number for that kit is:

    TR354.6TU

Bleeding was pretty simple, I just follow the same rule, furthest to the closest to master cylinder, didn't need to activate ABS for it.

There is, but you have to upgrade to 380mm which means 18"s will be very difficult to clear.

I asked Thomas if they would do stock size, he mention the factory calipers mount stick out too far to make it work.

did the seat risers for driver's side, the rear seat bolt down cover was a pain to remove, I tried to be careful as I really didn't want to break it, overall it was easy and I like it, I'm 6 ft, about 240-245lbs, my wife didn't like it, she's about 5'8, suddenly there's lot of space to put things under.

    Did 2 more thingies.

Added banks pedal monster, I think its a good system, I like the normal reverse and the slow take off function, the interface I think can use some update, such as ability to change sensitivity while driving, the install took 5mins.

Another was trd sway bars, they are currently on special in Canada as the parts will be discontinued soon, I also spoke to Accutune about how it affects travel as I ordered fox 2.5 dsc with icon billet uca, they say the change is minimal and I don't do any serious rock crawling, the overall change was really great, may be on really rough roads I felt more, but overall it's great.
