I suspect this hints at possible powertrain options on the next Tundra as well (I've been suspecting the 3.5TT V6 out of the LS500 being at least an option on the next Tundra ever since it debuted in the LS500). The Hybrid option looks interesting, since there's been talk about a Hybrid Tundra coming, which likely also means significant weight loss on the truck body/frame, depending which engine options are the "premium" ones:

I read this online a few minutes ago and came here to post only to see someone else read the same thing lol. A turbo 3.5 in the tundra would be interesting. Didn’t know the ls500 had that and puts out plenty of power. There’s still something about a v8 that sounds much better than a v6. I’ve seen f150s with v6 and after market exhausts and they just don’t sound right on a truck.

This is wonderful to hear. We're going to get more fuel efficient as we chase that very last barrel of oil.

Don't mind that there is now more known recoverable oil under west Texas than Saudi Arabia AND RUSSIA combined. Stupid details.

I've loved reading autoblog. They're away on point with their articles.

On a side note. Did anybody else notice the bronze wheels. For Anybody looking for TRD Pro wheel now can get them in bronze.

I heard rumors that they were going to go with 8-10 speed transmission and a few other "Gas savers" like auto start/stop.

Not sure if I will regret it in 2020 but I seem to enjoy the truck and its nice to have something I enjoy driving again.

My favorite thing about autoblog is they don't post political garbage, kind of like this forum actually
