    Sup guys,
First, thank you to all that has posted the how to on the forum. I learned a lot. I am in the process of upgrade the speakers and adding a sub. I am trying to do this with little to no modifications to parts and on a budget. I am doing this so that it will be easy for me to turn everything back to stock quickly if I needed to. One reason is, I am leasing my Tundra and may trade it in when the new Gen Tundra comes out. I am sharing my journey in case anyone in the same situation can avoid my mistakes.
I am not a professional installer but I have been installing systems in my cars and friends cars since 1999. I learned everything from my father who was a professional audio system installer.

First thing I did was upgrade the front and rear speakers without amp.
I am running Kicker 6 x 9 CSC693 in the front and Kicker 6 1/2 CSC 65 in the rears. I originally bought 6 1/2 for both front and rear but decided to exchange for 6 x 9 after pulling the door panel off. This was a mistake, I should of ran 6 1/2 with a 6 x 9 adapter like many of you. The problem with the 6 x 9 is that the magnet doesn’t clear the window guide frame. I used a 6 x 9 spacer which fixed the problem but it created a new one. The door panel is fairly secure except the bottom where the speakers is. You would have to modify the door panel to make it fit cleanly. I left it as it as it is. When the door is closed it sealed tight. i kept the dash speakers but upgraded the center to a 3 1/2 Pioneer TS- A878 which was donated to me by a friend with a Ford Raptor. I tried to fit some 3 1/2 kicker to the corner speakers but they will not fit unless the frame was modified. I am looking to replace the corners speakers a well later. It sounds a little better but it was not up to my standards.

I decided to amp the front and rear speakers and add a 10” sub.

For amp to speakers, I am going to run Kicker CXA360.4. I chose this because it puts out approx 65 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohm and it has speaker level inputs. I say approx because most good amp are test and certified at higher watts than advertise. The one I got is advertised at 360 watts but the certification on the amp is at 420watts.

For sub I am running 10” Kicker CompC loaded Enclosure 4 ohm. I did not take measurements but it looked like it would fit in the back seats. I did not want to buy a custom buy and spend $$$. I put the box in tonight. It will not fit in the driver-side rear seats but I managed to fit it on the passenger side. IT IS SUPER TIGHT WITH LITTLE ROOM FOR ERROR. There should be enough cleaners for sub speaker to move but the seat is literally pushed against the subs box. I will let you guys know if it cause it damage to speaker. I am running a Rockford Fosgate R500XD Prime 1 channel for sub. This amp was from my other car which had two Kicker 10” comp Cs.

I will install the amps tomorrow and give update. Here’s are some pictures.

    Nice.
Rockford and Kicker amp's are always legit, and then some, with power rating. Good choices.

Ok, I installed everything. I need to clean everything up. My wife was on my case about working on the car too much so I had to do it quick. I'll clean everything up and adjust the amps when I'm out of the dog house hahaha. The amped speakers and sub makes everything sooooo much better. Here are some pictures.

I decided to keep the dash speakers and rear tweeters. All are powered by stock head unit. I upgraded the corner speakers to Rockford Fosgate tweeters. Mounts and adapters are bought from Amazon. Still easy to take off if needed to teturn to stock.20191108_213835.jpg 20191108_213835.jpg
