I am about 90% sure the gas tank size has nothing to do with shifter type. In SR5 trim, you have to get the SR5 Upgrade Package in order to get the 38 gallon tank.

Don’t go off dealership websites. They just copy and paste random specs on their listings.

SR5 package automatically gives you floor shifter.

$46K OTD on an SR5 crew max, SR5 package, with leather, bed liner and larger gas tank. Couldn't get the dealer to budge on BS doc fees.

That’s what I usually think also but then I would think all of the SR5’s listings for this dealership would have the same info.

SX package also has floor shifter.

As I research more, looks like the SX package has the floor shifter with the 26 gallon tank.

26 gallon is not enough for this truck, you must get the SR5 package.

I’m thinking of buying a new tundra. I like the higher end model Platinum, 4x4, moonroof, bedliner, all bells and whistles, etc. Maybe it’s a good time to buy with COVID?

most platinums within 250 miles of me are loaded and have MSRP at ~$55k with a dealer discount of $3k for an internet price of ~$52k. Toyota is offering 1) $2750 cash rebate OR 2) 0.9% x 60 mo or 1.9% x 72 months.

what would be good goal price before TTL? I have no clue but from reading online and forums $48k?

any Recs on taking $2750 rebate or lower interest rates?

    thx,
    Randy

Shoot for 11-12% off MSRP before rebates. That seems to be about what most get.

Reading thru 2019 thread where Bear makes a good argument for 11.2% goal off of MSRP. Thanks.

not sure on taking rebate or low interest rates

I just bought an SR5 DC with the SR5 Upgrade Package for 12% off MSRP. I then also took the $2750 cash (New England Region).

Interest vs rebate depends how long you plan to own the truck and what rate you can get through local banks or credit unions. Just price it out with payment calculators and see which comes out ahead. Good luck.

I just bought a Tundra DC with the Sport Package. MSRP was $46036 and I paid $41278 before TTL. I might have paid a little more then I should have but I wanted to have a truck that was built before all this Covid 19 crap came around. I think it will be a while before the same quality goes into the build of the new Tundras. Wearing a mask while trying to assembly and keeping your distance does not make a good combination in a work environment.

Depending on interest rates but most times you are better off taking the interest rate over the rebate. I passed on the $3000 rebate and went with the 0.0% interest. The 1.9% interest was better then the $2750 rebate in the long run.

    Current interest rates are 0.9% x 60 months or 1.9% x 72 months.

If you take the $2750 rebate you get standard 4-5% rate thru Toyota I believe

I used this website to compare my total cost of loan (principal+interest) for my own scenario. I ended up taking the 3k rebate over the 0% back in November. I ended up about $500 ahead paying 2.9% interest but a lower initial loan amount.

I am at 45703 with an out the door of 49720 on a Limited TRD off-road. We have 6% tax and the dealer is adding 1100 in ‘fees’ including something called Pulse which flashes the 3rd brake light when braking. They add it to every truck for $399. I’m probably pulling the trigger if I can get another $2000 off.

Here in my area (Midwest) I’ve got my platinum truck down 15% off MSRP. It has everything I want and would be a great truck.

    Take the offer?

Yes that's probably the best I've seen. Is that with the rebate?

    Yes that’s with rebate.

    Doesn’t include taxes, title, etc.

I’ll either do cash or finance with my bank.

    I don’t think I can do much better. It’s 15% of MSRP.

Taking the rebate I'd shoot for 47k before tax title license but at the end of the day, if it's the exact truck you want, up to you if you want to haggle over $1000. Cash doesn't mean anything to dealers anymore because they get kickbacks from some lenders so I tell them you'll finance.

Do they have a large selection of platinum/higher trim tundras? Other dealers in the area to compete with? I agree with above; if msrp is $56k, 47k is a good offer since it’s about 17% off msrp. I’d shoot for 20% off, so 17% meets them in the middle of offering you 15% off. Good luck!

Dealer installed TRD dual exhaust system and tonneau cover. Personally installed TRD Pro grille and surround, side mirror caps, and TRD shifter.
    20200409_140928.jpg
Total Price of $47,895 plus tax, tags and processing fee. (Rebate included) (Includes dealer installed Tri fold Tonneau cover and Cat back exhaust system)

That was taken from an email from the dealer, but I forgot that I argued with him afterwards and got another $600 off the above.

I'm gonna take the 15% off MSRP, call it a win and get the truck. It has everything I want.

I've looked at 2020 Platinums within 500 miles of me and theres maybe 2-3 out there that have what I want and my color. Another dealer told me this morning I should take the truck as they couldn't compete.

I went thru every thread from 2019 and 2020...took me hours and 15% off is way above recommendation of 11.2%.
I've got a cassette deck in my current car!

The 11.2% is before rebates though, that's what we're getting at. Like I said, if its everything you want, don't haggle any further. 11.2% plus the rebate though puts you at $47,333. That's why I suggested 47k. If you're happy it's all that matters and every market is different. Congrats!

Just bought a 2020 Limited 4x4. Only add-ons were the TRD offroad package and all-weather mats. MSRP $49,603.00. Got a $3900 discount + $3000 toyota cash offer bringing it down to $42,703.00 before TTL and trade it!

Currently looking to be part of the Tundra family!!!

I currently am working out a few dealers. Currently, the best deal my area is...

    --------------------------------------------------------

    2020 Toyota Tundra Platinum 4x4
    MSRP: $56071
    Dealer Offer: $51586

What is included in this is.... (Again, dealer would accept 51586$)
    - Power tilt/slide moon roof
    - Brushed stainless steel stepboards (625$)
    - Spray on bedliner (579$)
    - Tailgate insert badge black (99$)
    - TRD Performance duel exhaust kit and tail pipe kit (1924$)

This is not including taxes, doc fee or any type of vehicle transfer fee.

    --------------------------------------------------------

Is their any input on if this is an acceptable price? Last thing anyone needs is to be screwed more money.
