    Looking for TRD Pro
    Good morning Community,

My name is Jose and I'm new to the forum; I actually decided to join because I'm procuring a TUNDRA TRD Pro, it is just a matter of time and, of course, pricing. The truck I really wanted was the 2019 TRD Pro in Voodoo Blue, but that color was not an option for 2020, so I guess I will go with the black. Given the COVID-19 Pandemic, I was told that production of Tundras in the TX factory had stopped and dealers are not getting any 2020s back into stock, that once production starts at full capacity they will be getting 2021 Models; dealers do not want to come down from MSRP on current inventory. Anyhow, the reason of this post is to see if I could get any help with the out the door price some of you have gotten lately. I know that invoice price for the truck is about 92% of the MSRP listed on the window sticker, and that Toyota usually gives a 3% rebate back to the dealer on the invoice price when they sell a new vehicle. so there is room for negotiations. So looking at a $57K MSRP, it can be negotiated down to about $51K +/-, plus 7% Sales Tax in GA and $75 for Tag and Title that would put the out the door price at about $55K. So, does this look OK or has anyone gotten better out the door numbers?

    Thank you.

I too live in the state of GA, $55K is about right for a new PRO. Just try and get the dealer options such as Spray In Bed Liner, LED Bed Lights, Running Boards/Sliders, and Paint Protective Film on hood and mirrors. I drove Black trucks for 15 years, loved them, but never again. That black paint shows every tiny nick and always looks dirty. That's why I went with Super White this time, no regrets.

The biggest discounts I’ve seen are 2-3k off MSRP on the Pros just due to limited volume. You can get 7k off other trims fairly easily, sometimes more, sometimes less. You can get Voodoo blue on most other trims on the 2020.

Skip the dealer options. You can do better on most buying and installing yourself. That said i got a good deal from dealer on spray in bed liner. About $200 less then port. The bed lights are cool but worthless if you have anything in the bed. Just put some LEDs in the overhead light. I just drove by local dealer in DFW and their lot was almost empty. Both used and new trucks. Never seen it like that.

Have you tried CostCO? They have a buyers service... they find you the PRO you want, color etc and secure you a price... it’s free if you’re a member. If it’s not the best desk then negotiate on your own. Worth a try. My Limited 20 CM through CostCo was $5k under the best prices I could find in CO. I took the price to the dealer of my choice and told them to match it... they came in $500 under that.

I have to disagree with you on the LED bed lights being worthless. Mine are mounted 14 inches above the bed floor, so I don't have issues with that. Not sure if mine are factory or dealer installed, but they are awesome. Have LED's in the cargo lights overhead, and LED's built into my toolbox. With all that my bed lights up like daytime. I like them a lot.

Maybe they work for you. I load my ice chests to the rear and they would completely block the lights. My big Yeti is heavy when not loaded and does not slide. Overhead light is all i need and what i would pay for the in bed lights is better used for other things. For someone that carries primarily low profile items they would be OK.

Got my 2020 DC pro for 47600 that was with the spray in liner and step. All dealers in TN wanted MSRP, so I found one at Fred Anderson in NC. Internet price. Flew over and drove it home.

I would be happy with 51k, they come pretty loaded now. Toyota in general doesn't usually have huge markdowns like other domestic dealers. Although, times are very tough for dealers right now. I bet there's a great deal for you out there if you're willing to do a little leg work

Ya I told them I will just wait for the 2021. I just can’t believe they are trying to go 10K over MSRP

I use buyersedgeinc.com through my company and I’m still getting prices over MSRP. For the army green vest price is $57K

How do you go about buying from another state? They gave you a price over the phone?

I live in Raleigh which is where the dealership is located. Another forum member listed that they purchased from the same dealer but that they live in a different state.

You can email and do it all online as well. Some will then transfer the vehicle to a dealership near you or you go and pick it up yourself, that all gets worked in your deal.

I used truecar to ensure I was getting a good value, but I was messaging the dealerships and worked my price to where I wanted it. Best thing about email, really doesn't take your time. Write up what you want, all the options and specifics, and the price you want. Take the first dealerships response and reach to another saying you have this offer, can they beat it. I worked like 7 different dealerships to get a price I was happy with. Talk to both big and small dealerships, and get some on the outskirts of town. I know in DFW some of our further ones work better deals to try and get business since they are out of the way.
I'm sure there any many more useful sites, but that's what I did and it worked for me.

I was able to work my deal from $54k to 52k with stainless steps. It was a month long process right when the Covid lock downs started. They were not willing to move a great deal and that was the best I could do .

Ya it’s ridiculous. But a few dealers here said they have 0 TRD pros in stock and they aren’t getting anymore. So the dealers who do have a couple know they own the market.

FYI - I checked out Costco's site and submitted my member information and requested pricing assistance on a Tundra TRD Pro.... this is what I got back on their site:

"Unfortunately, none of the dealerships in your area meet our strict pricing requirements for the model you selected.
Thank you for choosing to connect with the following dealership to receive the great Costco experience. Although the model you selected doesn't have low, prearranged Costco member pricing, our specially trained dealers are dedicated to providing superior service and consistent professionalism."
