    rated for 9600 - 9800lbs MAX, but realistically, you wouldn't want to tow a travel trailer/toy hauler heavier than 6500 -7500lbs (loaded, which means 5500lbs dry).

    I've towed some max-load trailers (dump trailer, skid steer, etc.) with my Tundra, and it's not something I'd want to do on a regular basis, or for more than a short trip out of town.

    7500lbs would be fairly comfortable, though.

    Also, your description shows you have a Silverado 2500 Duramax. Why would you switch from one of those to a Tundra, if you're going to be towing a toy hauler? The 2500 Duramax is a far superior truck for towing than a Tundra would be. As much as I love Tundra's, a half-ton just isn't in the same class as a 3/4-ton diesel.

    got it... ive been looking at toy hauler specs and they seem to be about 7k for a 26 footer not loaded...

    yea, that whole silverado thing.. i had the itch for a new truck because the silverado was older and i was worried about reliability so i bought the tundra... sold the silverado..

    I feel like with a 7k toy hauler, once you've loaded it, you'll be over the rating of the Tundra. Now, I've been over the rating on my Tundra a couple of times, but it was only ever for shorter trips in the city. I would never do a long highway drive with an overloaded (or even close to fully loaded) truck.

    I just got a 2018 Crewmax Limited. The payload is only 1200lbs. If you have passengers you can only go up to about a 6k lb trailer - loaded and you will be maxed out. This is the Tundra’s weak point. You need a lighter trailer or a heavier duty truck.

    I have an '18 CM Limited and have been looking at toyhaulers for the past 6 months. The numbers on the TH we are looking for are
    UVW=4180
    GVWR=7574
    TW=574
    CCC=3394

    these are the numbers I feel comfortable towing with my truck. The payload on mine(4x4) is 1520 lbs. Total length is 25ft. towing capacity is 8800lbs.
    What TH are you thinking about getting?

    I would be interested in what other have found in this sub 6000lbs UVW, Bumper pull toy hauler category. If I didn't have kids the Falcon looks amazing. Light, double axle, queen bed.

    I think alot of these come down to what you plan on being the "toy" some would work well for dirt bikes. On the other end side by sides, and 4 family members....

    We just found an rv (not a toy hauler) that is 4200 dry - 6000 GCVW. I told the wife we had to stay under 5000 dry. It’s a 2008 Aerolite 24.5’ that is in like new condition. The previous owner kept it under roof since new and only used a week or two a year. We got it cheap too! Tows very easy with the Tundra. Even at this weight I will be very close to max payload once I put my kayak on the truck.

    No problem, would love to see a complied list of usable toy haulers.

    Thanks will need to check that one out. There are so many RV's out there.

    Camper is 4200lbs UVW. 6000lbs CVWR. We don’t have it packed full at all. Just some basics and clothes. I would guess I am right at 5000 lbs. loaded. I am using a 6000lb. Equalizer hitch. With my kayak loaded on a rack and the family in the truck I will be right at payload max on this truck.

    Buddy has a tow hauler. Probably a 24. He tows it regularly with his 15 year old Silverado 1500 4x4 with no problems. That is other then a tranny. Of course it is a Cheby and older model.
