Good afternoon! I’m hoping to get some advice from seasoned veterans on here. I’m considering a purchase of my first ever Tundra. This is a 2019 platinum that has some aftermarket mods. I’ve never purchased a truck with aftermarket mods and was curious if you all would stay away from it, go for it, and what to look for/stay away from with mods. I’ve always driven a stock truck, but this one caught my eye.
Do you think any of these mods will void the warranty, at least on the suspension? I’ve attached pics of the mods as well.
This truck has 6300 miles on it and has the following adds to it:

Leveling kit: placed by Crutcher’s in Nashville
    Bullbar with LED lights: Crutcher’s
Front and rear sway bars: Crutcher’s
TRD pro dual exhaust: placed by Toyota
    Tires/wheels: Discount tire
Sidestep, mirror and handle replacements: done by the previous owner himself

As long as you are not planning on offloading this truck, you must likely won't have any issues.

Thanks so much for the response TXTundra2722. What features keep it from being more off-road capable? I certainly would like to take it offroad. I won't be doing anything too crazy off road, but would want to access river's and streams in the country here. Thanks again for your help.

You can go offroad with the current setup, but that truck was lifted the cheapest route available and is normally just for the mall crawlers that would like to run larger than stock tires, (to each his own, no judging here). With the extension over the coil spring you have to run extended bump stops (to keep from bottoming out your shocks) and this limits suspension travel, (not a good thing for offroad where you want more travel). I doubt it would provide any issues for driving down a hunting trail or through a pasture. It all depends on what your end goal and use for the truck is. Obviously either way it's a Toyota so you can't go wrong either way! :):muscleflexing:

Thanks so much for the help! The Black on black colorway has always been something that I love. I like white with black badges and wheels as well.

I have never used a leveler kit on any of my trucks in the past. This was certainly something that I have been debating on walking away from because of that. It looks like they did a great job with the exhaust, side steps, bullbar, and spray in liner as well. He also added a safe to the center console, which is very handy.

I'm contemplating waiting for the 2020's. There has been talk that they will add keyless entry, finally update the entertainment screen, and push button start. I'm sure it will come at a cost though. They are having trouble moving their 2019's at the moment as well, so they are giving some steep discounts on stock models.

Unless you're getting a SUPER price thousands below book I would stay away. Looks like all the cheapest routes and parts available. Speaking from lifting and leveling multiple trucks with higher grade accessories. Just buy a new one or used for a good price and do your own thing IMO.

Thanks for the warm welcome Jim! Happy to be part of a great group!

Losanjo, thank you for the honest advice! I've been going back and fourth on that for the past few days. Aftermarket mods are not my specialty, so it's good to get some sound direction from others. I don't want to have regret no matter what direction I go.

I assumed the TRD sway bars and exhaust were decent quality though.
The leveler kit seemed to be lower quality, but again, I don't know near as much on this topic as many in these forums do.

If they’re giving you a good deal on that truck I wouldn’t skip out on it just because of a leveling kit..
They don’t hurt the truck. They just aren’t the best option for if you’re trying to build a truck you’re going to be beating on off-road.

The big question is what’s a good deal on a 2019 platinum with what this one has? The things I value on it are the TRD Pro sway bars, trd dual exhaust, spray in liner, and and gun safe. It has 6200 miles on it. They guy took out the original lights inside the cabin and put blue LED’s in. I’m not a fan of mods like his blue lights, the leveling kit, bullbar, etc. The wheels and rims look good though.

Despite the mods, it’s used and should be a used price. I like the Fuel Vapors, TRD rear sway, and TRD dual exhaust (but will drone noise if you do any towing). I do not like the spacer lift, roughs up the ride. And I’ve read the front TRD sway also makes you feel the bumps more. Not a fan of the bull bars or side steps, seems outdated to me, however as long as you like them is all that matters. Platinum is a nice trim. You can easily change those interior LEDs. Ensure it’s accident free and no water damage. Sorry, I don’t know US prices, can’t give you a value. Dealers don’t care about our mods when we trade so don’t let them think they are worth something, they are technically used parts not the cost of replacement value.

    Joshua,
Thanks so much for the help! I agree with the mods you like and the ones you don’t care for. I don’t mind the bull bar, but wouldn’t have added it if it were me. My wife would appreciate the step bar though to help get kids in and out.

What all did you do to your truck? It looks amazing!

My main question would be why whoever put that stuff on it got rid of it already. If it's a really good price there is probably a reason.

Some good advice here I think. I would toss the bull bar in the trash, & if you don't like the blue interior LEDs you can swap the out for white ones fairly easily. The TRD dual exhaust is a solid $ upgrade. The (anti) sway bars look like Toyota. If you don't like the ride of them, you can easily fine someone here that would want them. The wheels and tires look good! It doesn't look like anything done to it that can't be easily redone if the overall price point is where you want it.
    Cheers! & Welcome from AZ!

Thanks, not as much as my heroes here, these members are true specialists:
    https://www.tundras.com/forums/3rd-gen-builds-2014.28/?order=view_count

If you decide on this truck, perhaps remove the spacers/blocks and put 6112 front/5160 back for a smoother ride, a very common combo on this forum. Or better if you have the budget and maybe more serious about off-road. The current stance looks stilty to me, a lot of open space in the wheel well above the tires. Did you test drive? Take a stock one out too, compare how they feel on bumpy street roads. I'd imagine it's harsher than stock the way it's lifted.

The lift you have now is ok for light trial riding. If you remove the rear block and get some shackles with poly bushings you will notice a better ride immensely on and off road. And the lift depends on how high you wanna go. Lots of options. But as is your gonna be ok as long as you don’t go 60 mph down a trial and treat it like a rally truck.

And you should be fine as warranty goes.
