I've heard mine running a couple of times when it was parked in the garage. I've got a service appointment scheduled on Monday and plan to ask about it.

    My owners manual says:
"Approximately five hours after the engine is turned off, you may hear sound coming from under the vehicle for several minutes. This is the sound of a fuel evaporation leakage check, and it does not indicate a malfunction."

Ive heard this noise before on my 2017 sequoia. I thought my truck was broken or something. Web search led me to this forum and info said it's normal. Evap system.

    I was told the same.
I live in WI and I have not heard this noise since November 2019, seems to be a summer thing or over 30 degrees.

Well I’m in Oklahoma, I don’t remember if it was cold or not but the first time I heard it was definitely in winter. Was super weird though because it had been like 5 hours since it had been driven that day.

If your nose is running and your feet are smelling, you might be built upside down... just saying

Just experienced this fiasco. I come to the garage and I’m searching for this noise for at least 10 minutes then I finally bent down under the truck and it was the fuel pump. I put the key in and turned it to on and not to start and back off and it went away. Weird. And I didn’t go catch it lmao.

It’s just the tank evap system…totally normal…my 14 Tundra does that as does our 14 highlander…don’t take it to the dealer.
