I have a 19 pro with some annoying shake and bounce with the stock rigid fog lights. Truck is almost 3 months old with 1800 miles. I have read about this same problem with the previous model years. (non rigid). Anybody else with similar problems.

My 2016 sucks too. It's the weak mounting points and the bumper flex.

Just noticed mine doing that driving home the other night. Haven’t had a chance to get under there and see what came loose yet

I just noticed this on my driver side the other night. I’ll have to give the zip tie mod a shot.

I had mine in for service and mentioned it. they ordered and installed new bezels around the fog lights. it didn't really do anything, but i have new bezels, so I've got that going for me...

    which is nice.

I just noticed both of mine are shaking on my 19 Tundra TRD Pro. I will try the zip tie fix to see if that make it stop. I found the thread and saw the pictures of the zip tie and blue clip but, Did anyone do a DIY ?

Mine do the same. In my case, for whatever reason, the bezels don’t want to quite snap into the bumper cap perfectly. I’ve had to pull them out and redo them. They still don’t snap in perfectly flush.

My truck isn’t a Pro. I ordered the fogs and bezels later and installed them. I’d thought maybe there was a slight difference in the caps, but if guys with actual Pros are having this issue that’s probably not the reason.

Have an appointment for Wednesday morning to get this issue with the Rigid Fog lights. Service Advisor at dealership thought It would be good to call Toyota tougher a case started which I just took care of. Will keep you posted on the outcome of the service.

Good to know. Please let us know what you find out. I did take it back to the dealer when I first bought my pro which solved the issue for a little bit but never really solved the problem and the fogs started bouncing again at 5k miles. Ended up just doing the zip tie DIY which has solved the issue for now.

Took my Tundra to the Toyota Dealership for service Wednesday morning. Didn’t hear anything until about 4:00 PM when the Service Advisor started to tell me that this is normal play for the fog lights and there wasn’t anything they could do to fix the issue. I said huh, Ok. Hung up the phone. 15 minutes or so go by and he calls back saying he just talked to the shop Forman and the decision was made to replace the sub bracket assemblies and clips. He said the parts were ordered and I can either pick up truck or leave it with them. I told him as long as I had a loaner vehicle to get home that I would leave it with him. This morning I get a call from their parts department telling me that the parts that I ordered are in and ready to be picked up. I told the Parts person that my Tundra was there for service and the parts were for an open repair order. ( Which I thought was strange ) Ok, so I don’t hear anything all day until I am ready to leave work and go home. My Service Advisor calls and said that parts that came in this morning were the wrong ones and they had to re-order the correct parts which came in at 3:00 PM and they were currently working on my Tundra and it would be done by 7:00 PM. When I got there my Service Advisor started to tell me that some of the Toyota accessories like the Rigid Fog lights are installed at the Port. I told him that i thought he was wrong and that Bed liners, Tonneau covers and step bars come from the Port but the Rigid fog lights are installed in San Antonio. I went to get in and drive off until I noticed bird crap on the hood so, I got him to run it through the car wash. Anyway they fixed them. They are much tighter.

I would've done the DIY zip tie mod instead of going through all that with a dealer BS IMO

It wasn’t that much of a hassle with the dealership. If they come loose again I will do the DIY fix. Thanks.

fairly certain they actually are installed at port. When my truck was built, it shipped out of San Antonio and then got stuck at port as there was a part shortage. There has been supply constraints from rigid for the fog lights, at least that was the case this spring.

when I ordered my rigid sr-40, there was a 2+ week back order, so there being supply issues with the fog lights seems plausible.

My loose fog lights actually wore down the paint on the bumper. The spot is small, about the size of the head of a q-tip and directly under the fog light.
The dealership put in a claim and wants to repaint the bumper and replace the bezels. I haven't decided if it is worth the hassle to repaint the bumper but the loose fog lights are driving me nuts.

That is kind of what I am leaning towards. Im searching the forum now trying to see what is involved to access the lights and zip tie them in place.

I know I’m late, but any idea what the part numbers were for the replacement parts they used?

Sounds like a short or bad ground. Since you indicated smacking local to the light made it work, my thought is the problem could be close to light/bumper.

    I have 3 suggestions:
    1. I would inspect the wiring harness for the fog light. Include checking the connector and follow it back as far as you can. Check for harness wear, any kinks or pinches etc.
    2. If only occurring on 1 side, its a little work but swap L&R and see if issue follows the POD or the side.
    3. Could re-wire fog lights with a relay direct off of battery and use factory harness as the trigger for the relay.

Thanks, gonna take a look at the connection of the wiring harness and just make sure everything is securely connected. Also to zip tie the housing to the bumper support and see how that does while I’m in there and just see if that resolves my problems. If it does, maybe I’ll try to make some brackets like others have done

I’m late but agree 100%. My dealership argued with me for like 10 minutes when I told them the Rigid Industries fogs are OEM and came on the truck. They kept telling me to take it back to where I got them installed. Basically just concluded that this is a problem I’m going to have to solve on my own

Checked it out today. It seems like the issue is the red and/or white wires coming out of the light into the connector (circled in attached photo). As I moved that around, the light would go on and off depending on how it was moved. I added some electric tape hoping that helps keep it stable.

I’m hoping the zip ties I added will prevent that from moving too much. If this doesn’t resolve it, I may just buy some new rigid pods in the amber since I prefer that look anyway.
