Ok quick question, I am looking at the 2020 Tacoma, 4runner and Tundra.
Went to the local Toyota lot because I had to buy a new visor for my 2010 Taco.
The dealer that was previously working with me on the new 2020 models, saw my wife checking out a 2019 Platinum 4x4 sticker was 51k and some change.. He said hey if you want this one instead of the new 2020 I can get you 7k off right now.. I joked and said well once you get to 10k off I will consider it.. I continued to the parts section to get my Visor and when I came back he said.. 10k off and we got a deal...
Now the big question.. Is that a good deal.. I was waiting for the 2020 so I would get the keyless and such..
My mind says holy crap 10k off a brand new vehicle!! I don't need all that fluffy stuff..but my heart says I do...
Plus this will be my LAST vehicle I buy new because I retire in 4 years..
Lets get some input on this.. Plus and Minus
    Thanks
    Tundralag...

I have a double post, I posted this in builds as well by mistake.. sorry mods..

Seems like a pretty good deal to me. I paid more than that for my SR5 a couple of years ago.

    Welcome aboard.
When the 2020's first come out, they probably wont have a huge discount (it's brand new, why would they?).
You can have the dealer install the push/remote start for about $900 on the 2019 and get the dealer warranty.
I think the 10k savings is worth it on the 2019.
Tell him 10k off and a remote/push start.

I guess it depends on how important the keyless ignition and Apple CarPlay are to you. If you really want the newest gadgets then wait for the 2021 (or will it be 2022?) refresh.

The 20s aren’t going to be much different I am thinking you might have to wait a couple more years. For 10K off you might even be able to make some money if you want to trade it off in a year or two?? Take the 10K and asked for the clear clear coat protector on everything too?? It’s only another six or seven hundred??? WTH doesn’t hurt to ask.:) good luck!!

So a 4WD Platinum for $41,000. Plus the other add ons (tax, delivery, etc). Do I have that correct? If I do that sounds like a very good deal to me.

It’s a good deal, congrats! You’ll see as the 2020’s get closer, the more desirable 2019’s will go away. I think you’re going to be even happier when you see the prices on the new 2020’s. Don’t look back, you did well. If you really need keyless entry and start, Apple Car Play etc., sell the 2019 in a few years and get the second year (2022) of the next gen.

That is a smoking deal. I assume that includes the rebate and not the low interest financing. If you are paying cash then that is a good price. If you are financing then you need to figure out the interest and add that back in compared to the rebate. Cars aren't selling right now and the lots are getting pretty full. The 2020's will be out before we know it and our local RAM dealer is still sitting on some 18's. As far as the push button fluffy stuff, one the only problems I have had with mine is the stupid cruise control/lane sensor in the grill. Fancier shit breaks. Finally tell him you are aware of the camshaft tower leak issue in the 5.7's and have him sign something that you both spoke about it prior to the purchase. They are covering it under warranty for those of us that have it, but it is a pretty intensive repair.

41 flat plus tax on difference between my trade and 41 so bottom line 41 plus tax on 7 k. Or 41,500 out the door

    Ok Good update...
When the rubber met the road the dealer balked at the 10k said one thing to my face and another when the paperwork was about to get started. Bottom line they only offered 7k off in the end.. More than likely a good deal at 7k .. however, once you give me a deal and then back out I am done with you.. same applies to dealers.. The search continues
Good news for me I am not in a hurry and can wait until the 20's hit the showroom floors.. then see what type of deal I can get..
