I’m replacing my incandescent turn signals with LEDs. The 2019 Tundras with LED headlights don’t have the amber colored DRL. Does anyone know if I can activate the new LEDs to run as DRLs in addition to the white LEDs that are already on? I’ve searched and can’t seem to find anyone wanting to do this. Mostly just the opposite. Any suggestions or pointing me to the right thread would be much appreciated.

I’m beginning to think it’s more trouble than it’s worth. I miss the amber DRLs but also like the white LEDs. Guess you can’t have everything, and I’m not an electrical engineer to figure it out LoL

No. They are only wired to be used as a blinker.

@xrunnerdude67 I wonder if something like this might be your forte given your talent with the Sequoia LED harness upgrade.....

It is possible. I have retro fitted LED headlights with a prewired harness with the option of having LED and Turn signal DRL's on. My guess would be to wire them up to an IGN source with a fuse tap. Make sure you get LED bulbs that are meant for DRL and not just turn signals.

@iHacker may be able to help. It could be as simple as a pin swap or jumper wire but I'm not sure

I like the Amber DRL. In fact, I haven't added the new LED headlights to my 2017 specifically bc I don't want the LED strip DRL. To me, the amber DRL makes the Tundra stand out more from the sea of white LED DRLs on every other car on the road.

I know nothing about this specific brand or how it operates on the Tundra so I’m not recommending this as much as just giving an example. I’ve seen people swap out the led boards on other vehicles and replace them with ones that allow you to change the DRL colors. You should be able to run the DRLs as amber instead of white with something similar. You’d have to take your headlights apart though. Note this looks like it’s for the older halogen headlights with bottom LED drl as opposed to the new all LED lights on the new trucks. But something similar may exist.

Yes it is possible you need a jumper wire from Violet wire in side maker to the empty spot in turn signal plug.

    Something like this DC1FC8D2-92D0-4EB0-85B9-FE79AF632B94.jpg

Or a more complex T adapters to have the Amber Bright and Dimmed DRL but soldering and 4 diodes are required

Not sure if it’s worth all the trouble to get this

    Interesting...

Would there possibly be a way to reverse this? As in ... take the OEM LED drl lights and turn them into turn signals, instead of the amber bulb nobody can see anyways

Thanks everyone for your help. I may try the jumper wire like iHacker recommended when I get the time. I also like the idea of making the white LEDs flash like a turn signal.
