It’s been a while since I have upgraded a stereo and would like some input. I’m looking to get a nice system for my truck a 2019 TRD Pro crewmax. I’ve been doing my research through Crutchfield and the following is what they recommend. Current head unit is a Pioneer Avic W 8500NEX.

    Suggested from Crutchfield below:

    Front doors:JL audio C5 650
    Rear doors:JL audio C3 600
    Speaker Amp:Alpine X A70F
    Subs: JL Audio stealthbox
    Sub Amp: Alpine X A90M

    What do y’all think?

Are the JL amps that much better than the Alpine x series? How much sound deadening and what brand works the best for our tundras?

To say jl is better than alpine without specifying some details doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. I have had both the jl hd and alpine pdx... pdx is going into my next truck... unless I break down and put in full-size amps.

Pound for pound I think Alpine is the way to go. OP have you been to a shop to listen to each? The PDX V9 sounded great to me if you are looking for a single amp to run your whole system. Going with the 2 JL amps would be awesome but cost would be nearly double depending on what version you are looking at.

Alpine PDX amps are legit...had them in a few of my sound builds....also take all those speakers from crutchfield and go to Amazon and check the prices sometimes they will be quite a bit cheaper.
