    Hi Everyone!

So Im new around here! Kinda feel like an imposter since I don't actually have a Tundra yet... Unfortunately, I have exactly 3.5782 boatloads of plans and ideas for what to do when I actually get one.

That leads me to my problem. Im almost 100% sure that I want to end up with an 2018, and I without question want the CrewMax. However, since I don't actually have one, getting some specific bed measurements has proven quite difficult.

Any way that one of you generous folks with a CrewMax could help me out?

These are the dimensions that Im looking for:

A - Distance between the bulkhead and the very base of the wheel well
B - Height of the wheel well
C - Length of the wheel well
D - Distance from the very base of the wheel well to the mouth of the bed

    Thanks everyone, I appreciate it!

Eh, that entire area is full of curves so measurements are going to vary wildly. I would suggest going to a dealership so you can get the exact points you need.

@Pudge, that would be amazing! Im sure the curves/bedliner/subjective measuring will throw it off a bit... but im just looking to get a rough idea. Thanks a million!

    @JKurtis
Lemme know if you need clarification.
I'm sure these numbers could be off by an inch maybe 2 because of the drop on bed liner but it's a start for you

What are you plans? Building a platform?

Yep, and trying to cram a few aux systems in all the corners. Looking to build a bed storage system, battery bank, compressor/air tank, extra fuel, potable water, etc all in there while being able to keep a tonneau cover over it.

The ultimate goal is to build a truck that is a daily driver, and from the outside doesn't scream "OFFROAD!!", but that is actually quite capable. Tall order for sure...

Thanks again for the measurements! Thats for sure enough to get started! And worst case scenario, because of the bed liner, Ill actually have a bit more space to work with!

Sounds cool Josh. I like the idea. Check out the options of mounting stuff to bed rails with T Slot nuts. Those rails can be pretty versatile. When taking your measurements make sure you take in consideration if the tonneau you're getting requires you to lower the OEM bed rails. My rolling bak revolver x2 I had to lower them with supplied brackets. Some tonneau covers don't require this.

Oh you have the x2?! I was literally just looking at that!

How do you like it? Is it pretty waterproof? And.... sorry to ask you another favor... what is the height from the bed floor to the lowest point of the X2? Does that make sense?

One other question... with the X2 installed, do you still have access to the bed stake pockets? I know on the '18 CrewMax, the pockets are not actually cut out, but can you still see the outlines where they would go?

I love the x2. Its dry under there even after car washes. A few drops now and then but you could seat that area (tailgate) with foam tape and your be good.

Let me go measure for you.

My buddy had an x2 on his crewmax and has bed bars installed into the stake pockets. So you're good there for sure.

@Pudge you sir, just made my day! I didn't think that I was going to find a tonneau cover that would work with what I wanted to do. But this should be perfect! Thanks again for all the back and forth!

Is that 21.25 to the bottom of the cover, or to the bottom point of the mounting rails?

JKurtis, any update or photos on your mod? I've thought of similar ideas for my 2012 CM.
