Does anyone know if the new 2018 sport grill will fit in the other models? I really want a Tundra and will be looking at the 2018 models but if the Pro grills are not available I need to look at alternatives. If someone told me that the chrome grill was my only option then I would have to pass on the Tundra. I wish Toyota would offer a color match option on grills and bumpers on all models. I guess the Japanese think chrome sells.

Not sure if anyone would know this since they haven't even hit the dealers yet. I would imagine they would though. If they didn't that means they changed something else rather than just cosmetics

The problem is going to be the emblem. The TRD Sport grille does not come with one, and all TRD Sport models are equipped with the Toyota Safety Sense (TSS-P). This includes a pre-collision safety feature, and guess where the sensor is....

What about the platinum grill? It has a color matched surround and hood bulge? If I didn't have a pro that's the grill I would get. I think it's right around the same price as the pro grill. With a little plasti dip it looks really good. 3D5A3CB4-B6D8-4CFA-9E36-DF60A1EBD038-814-00000152ABAAA818_tmp.jpg

Now those are fugly. I do not understand why someone would like that. Even if I was in to cars I would not buy that. The limited grill is still chrome and that is my problem with Tundras.

I think it's funny that one would choose or not choose a truck just because of the grille. Really only thing that matters to me is it's a Toy Yoder.

I don't think that is the case, as most are here because they own or want to buy the Tundra. The frustration comes form there are things some would like to see that are either being produce sparingly or not made at all.

While I don't despise chrome like most here, I think the giant chrome beak is a little much. The Platinum has my favorite 3G grille.

It is not just a grille. It is a big ugly chrome grille. I want to look at a Titan because it has under seat storage but they have a similar ugly chrome grille. I hate chrome enough to even consider a GM product with color matched grill and bumpers. Thought about the 2018 Sport but it has stuff on that I do not want and is more expensive to change out than a grille and surround. It is not just the grille but also Tundras lack of back seat storage. Back seat storage is part of the reason I own a Tacoma. Nissan and GM both have under seat storage. I rarely carry passengers and do not want my stuff just laying loose on the floor.

Why not buy an sr5 grill and color match the surround? Those look similar to Pro grill. As for back seat storage, ESP sells an under seat storage for under 200.

To me, the grill would be the last thing that would make or break my decision to buy a truck. First would be durability, which we know the Tundra has and not the Silverado.

Do you need a crewmax? Double cab Tundra comes with under seat storage and have more room in the back seat than your current Tacoma has. My dad has an 07 Tacoma quad cab and leg room is about the same in his truck and mine.

I have a HUGE Locker Down steel safe under my back seat but it is a double cab.
Also ESP just came out with a VERY nice steel safe for the Crew Max that includes new seat rails.
Both of these products i believe are unbeatable in quality as well as the Tundra itself.

I know a lot of people that have gone well over 200k on their Silverados with no problems. Since I rarely carry passengers I do not need a CM but I want the power rear window. I do a lot of backing up in the dark and they are nice to have. If the DC was available with one it would be a slam dunk. I also much prefer a fold down back seat and from I have read you can mod the DC to a fold down. I just checked some end of year prices hoping maybe for a deal. Initial offers were nothing to write home about. No where near what I was seeing earlier in the year. I do not need locking storage but something with a lid would be nice. For me the Tacoma configuration is perfect. I have storage behind and under seat and a flat surface for guns, storage boxes, and duffel bags. Where do they put the jack in a Tundra?

You are correct about the Tacoma and its storage compartments, I used to own one before trading for the Tundra.

The Jack in my double cab is behind the passenger side rear seat. Between the rear storage box and the back of the truck. It is accessed by folding the rear seat up.
