It is a nice truck. I’ve got one in White. The 2018 TRD Sport is a nicer ride than my 2011 Sequoia Platinum. MPGs are way better than the 2011 and better off road in the sand as well.

    Overall, could not be happier.

I had a 2012 sr5 sequoia and it was flawless for 140k... Oil changes, gas, and that's it. I did service the diffs, transfer case, and change tranny fluid 2x. Absolutely 0 complaints and one of the best vehicles I ever owned. Never burned a drop of oil and pulled the family camper and boat everywhere. Made me choose the tundra.

We’re at over 180k in our 2012 Sequoia. Never had to do anything other than maintenance, brakes, tires, and a battery. Outstanding vehicle.
It’d be nice to se a real update. It’s pretty much the same truck it was in 2007.

I got one of them. TRD Sport package is probably the best riding sequoia there is. I often get 17mpgs and even averaged 19mpgs on one tank.

I hit 21 mpg on a trip to Bangor ME in April and we travel to the outer banks for vacation. I hit 19.8 MPG for a tank and averaged 17.4 mpg for the month which included about 50 miles in 4WD in the soft sand with tire pressure at 21 psi so I was on the gas that whole time.

    Absolutely thrilled with the truck.

    I will post pics tomorrow

They are sensitive to fuel brands.... Sam's club gas is rot gut. I would only get 14mpg... Bump it to Sunoco or marathon and it was back up to 16/19. Mine also hated high speed. 65-67mph and I was close to 20mpg. 72-75mph took me down to 16. Higher octane would get better, but not better enough to offset the initial cost of fuel.

I run 93 octane in mine. I would think about reprogramming the chipif it was easy like with a hyper tech or something

You hit the nail on the head. Top tier gas from a big name is generally better quality than the mega store stuff. I look at gasoline like bourbon. The bottom shelf stuff is still burboun, but generally tastes like shit. There is a reason the top shelf stuff is better, therefore more expensive.

I love this truck more than the 2011 Sequoia Platinum this replaces. Only thing I miss on the 2017 that the 2011 had was folding mirrors and motorized tailgate.

This I love about it is the performance in the sand, MPGs, lane departure, blind spot detection.

Entunes does suck something fierce though.

Mods: less restrictive exhaust, new TRD airfilter and air box intake, TerrainContact A/T tires, real skidplates not the new OEM thin skid plates, front tinted windows, and a adapter for a passenger to use my phone and nav system while in motion.

Throw in the great price achieved through Costco buying service and the trade in value for my 2011 Sequoia Platinum, and it was a no brainer.

On the previous one, was the tailgate windshield motorized or the tailgate itself!

On our 2012, both are. Tailgate lifts with key fob or button on the dash. There’s also a button behind the tailgate to close it. My wife will lose her shit if you manually open or close that tailgate. I have absolutely no idea why.
The window button is in the same place the tundra one is I believe. In addition, if you put the key in the tailgate, and turn it a certain way, the window will roll down.

Not bad looking but kinda has an outdated look to me. Similar grill to the 2010-2013 model tundras. You would think they would update look of the front end. Interior looks nice and updated though

The 18 works well for me. I like the looks and my 2011 was awesome.
It does everything I need it to do, and it’s off-road and bad weather prowess are awesome.

The lift gate is manual, the window is automatic and can be put down from the drivers seat.
