Thanks for this post, it and the video explained the questions I had about functionality. I have a 2017 SR5 non-LED, my plan would be to do LED high all the time harness and keep ambers on. Does your last point mean the ambers would behave the same as now- dim when headlights are on (white DRL's would remain at 100%), and turn signals would flash amber only on and off at normal brightness? Just want to be completely sure on function.

If you elect to use the non-dimming harness with 2018+ headlights, nothing changes on operation of your 2017 turn signals/park lamps/DRLs. Unless you do the amber DRL-delete mod, all of those functions will remain exactly the same as they are now in the stock 2017 SR5. The reason that's true is because the non-dimming harness does not enter the cabin where the DRL wire and flasher are; it connects to 12V power inside the fuse box under the hood.

You may want to upgrade the amber turn signal/park lamp/DRL bulbs in your 2018+ headlight housings to LEDs. The incandescent bulb spec'd for the turn signal function is notorious for not being visible to oncoming traffic. Do a search, there are many threads on this topic.

Sorry if this has been asked but I just got my hands on some 2014 platinum headlights with the LED at the bottom of the headlight.. my question is what do I need to make them work on my 2014 SR5? Is it plug n play or do I need a harness??

Just finished installing mine. Looks much better than the original lights. No issues at all with the harness, but getting that gray wire out for the DRL was a real PITA. Thanks @iHacker for a quality product and detailed instructions.

Can anyone speak for the performance of the TRD Pro headlights vs stock SR5s? I am wondering if there is any improvement at night... we have long winters up here in Alaska! Anything better out there?

    Looks GREAT Mr. Data!

The LEDs are much better than the stock halogen. A lot "crisper" and improved distance IMHO.

Yes I suggest a depin tool in the installation guide but sometimes isn’t in stock from the link I shared but it’s fairly easy to find from other sources on eBay it’s a popular tool for that purpose.

I found picks comparing the halogen to 2019 LED lights at the link above (MESSAGE #21). It definitely makes a difference! I'll have to put it on purchase list! Where do you all buy these lights, local dealer, online retailer? Shipping on parts to Alaska is horrendous. I was quoted $199 for shipping of a color match grill and an additional $130 for the bulge. ROBBERY!

:( Considering your high shipping quote I’d rather try at local dealership first

Maybe you can show your local dealer prices from other Toyota dealers that sell online and get them to match or at least discount a bit if you buy from them.

Just got a quote for $498 per light. They said that their prices are firm and do not price match. Must have learned that in Stealership 101 training.

Even Roman at Toyota of Cool Springs doesn't extend his free shipping offer to Alaska. Unlike the rest of the country Alaska only has 3 Toyota Dealers for the whole state and they are all owned by Kendall, so no competition. When I purchased things like the TRD Pro grill, hood bulge and headlights I had Roman ship the items to a freight forwarder, saved quite a bit of money that way. Span Alaska is probably one of the largest freight forwarders serving Alaska and gives great service: https://www.spanalaska.com/

How’s it going I hacked, wanted to mention that I just saw your video on YouTube about this harness. I’m about two weeks too late, I just purchased my 2019 led headlights from Toyota and ordered a conversion kit harness from headlight revolution. After watching your video, I want yours. I can’t stand the Amber drl on my new ones. Just wanted to know how long it would take to make me a harness for my 2015 tundra with dimming drls and eliminating the amber...all the works.

They look awesome. I was wandering if he had came out with a wiring harness for a fog light mod so our OEM fog lights can to turn on anytime without the headlights being on or with the high beams.

    Hello buddy,

This is a simple process and a harness isn’t required just basic tools you probably have at home and a piece of 16 or 14 gauge wire, check this thread

I got the harness from @iHacker and it was very easy to install, and this is coming from someone who has zero experience with wiring. Harness arrived fast and I was able to install the platinum headlights with led bottom strip on my 14 SR5. Very happy 0158916F-9619-4CE2-A1D2-A0C980DFD746.jpgD4327FE4-93F2-463C-A887-55EDB5030361.jpg

Looks great and working properly as it should be. Installation is not that bad just need patience and 2-3 hours to make things right.
