There were a few requests to see light output with new fogs installed and the functionality of fog light mod. So here we go. With mod I can not have just the headlights on, the fog lights will always be on with headlights, you cant switch them off. Switch on stalk is now useless but that's fine with me.
    Just 2018 LED DRL

    A few observations
    1. The 2018 LED DRL are about as bright as the stock 2015 halogen headlights my truck came with. That's just crazy to me but it's very close in brightness.
    2. I think I may lower the beam a bit on my new fog lights. The stock ones were a bit too low as they covered as far as a couple feet in front of the truck, which is useless because you cant even see that area while driving.
I aimed the morimotos up a bit but I went a little too high which left some space in unlit.
    3. I like the width of the light output of the new fog lights. It's hard to tell though because I cant turn the headlights off to see what light is coming from what source. Nonetheless they are brighter and wider than stock.
    4. I think they look great for a fraction of the price of the 2018 fog lights. Not saying they're nearly as good but I like them. The looks, output, and color are perfect for me.

Looks awesome. '18 head lights are on my list....somewhere down the line....
Are those OEM bulbs for the low/high beam or did you upgrade?

The bulbs are OEM. As far as I know the bulbs in the 2018 LED headlights are not replaceable.

For some reason, I thought they were. Either way, they look so good.
Do you find people flash you more with the '18s, as opposed to the '15s?

I haven't had anyone flash me with the new or original headlights so no worries there.

Which "anytime fog light mod" directions did you use? I did mine awhile back and at first my fog light switch was inop after the mod until I realized I had used the wrong wire under the dash. Made the correction and now the fog light switch works again, I'll have to dig up the pics

I did the one where you bend the relay. I'd be interested in the one you're speaking of. I want fogs with high beams. But also wish switch worked and maybe could run them with DRL. Keep me posted thanks Thomas

The "mod" directions I used were from tundratalk, I'll look for them tomorrow. I can run the fog lights with just the parking lights on (so low DRL mode) they stay on with high beams and the fog light switch still works. It involved a minor rewiring under the dash with two wires if I'm remembering it correctly.

I'll take a look. Can you turn on your fog lights during the day when running your switch in "auto" mode. I'd like to be able to do that. So auto setting which runs DRL and have fogs on

Thanks man. I found it. It doesnt work to make fog lights go on with DRL in AUTO mode. But it does everything that the relay mod (the one I did) does in addition to restoring the function of the fog light on/off switch. I'll do this some day when I have some time.

No. Park lamps has to be on to be able to turn the fogs on.

This is how I did my fog light mod. I have a 2011 crew max. Instead of bending the one tab. Consider the small jumpers as extensions of those "tabs", follow the right tab to the right plug and than ground that far right tab. You will lose your fog light switch funtionality.FOG LIGHT MOD.jpg
