    2016 limited
Hello. I have a 2016 limited. This might be a stupid question, just want to be sure. The rear tail lights, are the top of the tail light supposed to be lit up when the lights are on? Or is is just for the emergency flashers? Purchased the truck used and just noticed it.
    Thank you!

No they are not. The top is the turn signal. The bottom is the running/brake light. Drives me nuts too. Actually there is a company working on a harness that will use all 4 as signals and all 4 as brake and running lights. I will check with them next week on the progress since I need to order some stuff from them.

Oh, this would help my OCD so much. I'd just be happy if the top bulbs lit up full time and there was no other function changes. It just looks like the Tundras have burned out tail lights all the time.

I agree. It is as bad as them doing away with the amber turn signals in the rear. One of these days, @Headlight Revolution may get us pics of the tail lights that they are designing. :stirthepot:

I actually prefer the look of all red out back. I think that the amber just clashes with too many colors in the line up.

Yeah I was thinking visibility wise for the morons around us that can't drive. I am putting in the Muth turn signal mirrors at some point but haven’t decided on red or amber yet.

I hear you there, but honestly, bright lights don't fix stupid. I'd settle for red LEDs before ambers, unless they can flash amber but not look amber when not in use.

Meso has a tundra now, so I'm hoping he's developing a total tail conversion like he did for the taco. :fingerscrossed:

Thanks for the all the info! I also think the rear lights would look 100% better if the whole taillight lit up. Hopefully someone will a fix for that soon.
