    Good afternoon all,

California Born Active Duty Military, slated to retire after 21 years in May. Currently located by Fort Meade, MD.

My Tundra is 2014 SR5, original owner, 85K miles. I'm stuck between purchasing to the new 2022 Tundra next year or wanting to BAJA my truck. I really like the Raptor, but I think it's overpriced.

Seeking a knowledgeable mentor for this potential build.
Seeking wise advice from strong mentorship.

    Thank you in advance.

    Very Respectfully,

    Tony

You could build a heck of a truck for about 1/5-1/4 the price of a 2022. Add in the 2022 is the first year of a complete redesign- there are going to be some recalls or other issues that occur. Price on the 2022s, well all new vehicles are expensive so expect Toyota to be up there too. You can spend $80k+ on a new 1/2 ton truck these days.

With that low mileage, one owner truck, I would keep yours. However, if I was planning to build a baja truck, I may look for another one to built and keep your nice one owner, low mileage truck as is. You will be replacing all suspension, maybe going long travel, so changing body panels too.....basically chopping up and modifying everything. Hate to see a nice "survivor" truck getting all chopped up.
