(Heading mistype-SR5) Brand new to this forum but I’ve heard y’all are some knowledgeable individuals so I decided to create an account and run a question by y’all. I’m about to pull the trigger on a 2009 Tundra SR5 with 120,000 miles on it for $14,500. The service records are spotty but CARFAX is clean, one one owner, and the only recall open on it is for the accessory wheel. What do y’all think just based on the very small amount of info I’ve provided? Thanks!

Any potential issues I should be aware of at that mileage? My buddy has a 4Runner with 325,000 on it and has never replaced anything other than an alternator, water pump, and shocks.

AIP (air injection pump). It is covered up to 10 years or 150k. This is not a recall per say, but Toyota realized it's a big issue. There are some propeller shaft issues with the 2nd Gen's . It's like a clunk sound, like somebody bumping you in the rear:eek:, stay focused:D. Anyway Toyota covered it and replaced it . Outside of that, normal wear and tear. 120 k isn't Jack but that's the suggested time to change your plugs out . Let's see some pics of this Beast .

I’ll test drive tomorrow and look out for the propeller shaft noise. Either way, at $14k, I wouldn’t mind having to invest a little money to have her in excellent condition. The truck is priced about $3-5k less than a few certified models in the area which may or not be a sign of something.....

Nice . If it's got a clean Carfax I say go for it. It probably would help if you had a trusted mechanic look @ it. Is it a 4x4?

It’s not 4x4 :( but I have to get out of my 1997 FORD EXPLODER IMMEDIATELY before it nickel and dimes me to death and I feel like if I pass on this truck, it’ll end up on my Top 10 biggest regrets list.

When you go to test drive it, the clunking that I dealt with was @ a slow take of or stop. It was like there was some play in it. On not being a 4x4, I cheaped out when I bought my 08. I had 2 Tacos prior with 4x4 . That first time you need it , and don't have it. You will be regretting it like I have. Just something to think about. Good luck:thumbsup:

Purchased 2007 with 130k, didn't hesitate for mileage. If 5.7 really cool, 4.7 timing belt probably overdue unless in records (pricey maint. item)

    Looks good!
