I am eyeing a used 2008 Tundra with 3 owners in Texas, nice car both interior and exterior.
    120k Miles.
What major issues I need to check before sealing the deal?

I have a 2007 with 160K. Other than routine injector, brakes etc., all I have had was a starter motor go out and that was NOT a cheap repair.

I would have to pull the paperwork but I think close to 1K and I am glad we had AAA plus because it rode on a flatbed from Robbinsville NC to Asheville NC as nobody local could deal with it. Still had to drive from Greenville SC to Asheville NC to pick it up.

Pricey! 3-4K. It would be good if you could get the history , maybe they were replaced. There is also a bypass kit and some other options to fix it. Just type it in the search box on the site, you should find some threads on it.

The one has 2 owners , all repairs done at Toyota dealer. It don't mention anything of AIP. That's what keeps me worried.

Only issues was the starter but check for leaks at the cam tower. Its should have the gray rtv i think thats the good one. And for me the aip system i usually wait a minute after starup so they can close their valves. What kills them are snow/salt and water.

Check in the bed and underneath at the four corners where it mounts to the frame. Certain runs of tundras from 07-12 have issues rusting from the underside up. A quick search for Tundra bed rust issues will show you what your looking for.

I purchased my 007 in 017 with 270,000 miles on the 5.7L. I replaced the fuel pump within the first month and I added a DAP tune to eliminate the AIP issue before it happened. The truck has 291,000 miles on it today and it's my reliable daily driver.
