@pullupthendown are you on Instagram? Pretty sure I've complimented your truck on there before. I think that's the elusive Timberland Mica. I've only seen a handful in that color and absolutely love it.

First off, I’ve ALWAYS thought forest green is the best truck color. Good job on finding one!

Where were you able to order the Windoor from? Is it specific to your brand camper shell?

It’s a replacement window for a LEER shell. I have a Century shell but even contacting them directly, I could not source a windoor. After doing some cross referencing and making a trip down to my local LEER dealer, I was able to find one that fits. It’s a 6/10 in quality for the $326 it cost.

Looking great, the roof really cleaned it up nice. The windoor is a huge upgrade as well

@pullupthendown what products did you use to prime and paint your mirrors? Mine are currently plasti-dipped but I need to peel and paint them.

Light sanding, alcohol wipe down, tack cloth wipe down, Rust-Oleum auto primer, then Rust-Oleum paint, then some left over 2 part clear from Amazon.

Great build so far. Thanks for putting it out for us all to see.

Could you go more into the steps taken to paint the mirrors? Do you have links for the sandpaper and 2 part clear you used?

I want to say it was around ~$350. It was either $326 or $362 and that includes the seal. It will probably be a little more for a long bed.

scuffed up with 180 > 320 >primer >600 > paint > clear > wet sand with 1000. I wouldn’t worry too much on materials, just take your time. I had a leftover can of 2K poly from when I tried to refinish my roof and it failed miserably. It’s a one time use so I’d have a few things to spray.

Nice truck! I'm in process of doing some very similar upgrades on my 05 DC. Especially with the canopy camper. So far have added some led lights and tried the first iteration of a bed sleeping platform this last summer.

I have a leer canopy that looks very similar to yours and I was leaning towards a new one with windoors. Was going to go mid high, but just replacing the windows would be a cheaper solution.

How do you like the wheelers AAL? I'm through oregon a bit and was going to pick one up to redo my rear lift along with 5100s ( to match the front).

Going to spray your grille black too? I want to do mirrors and grille but too big of a chicken. I might get there.

Nice. You've given me a nudge closer to painting mine.

I've bought some things from wheelers in the past, their AAL is at the top of my list now. Hope to get it in next couple months.

If you can just save up for new leaf packs I would consider that. I regret my AAL. It's really just a band-aid fix. Our leaf springs are 15-20 years old at this point.

They have a 3 leaf progressive kit that I'm considering. Replaces the factory overload. I could use a little additional support as I'm squatting pretty good on some of my loads. I'll look at new spring packs, but my truck will be a work/hunt truck eventually and not a DD.

If you are loading it up and and up squatting I think that's an even stronger argument for full packs. I replaced a broken 2nd leaf on one side a few weeks back and found that side now riding 1/4-1/2 in higher than the other. Springs are tired and the AAL are meant to add height when unloaded, not handle more weight like Erik says. I'll probably do ATS HD packs next winter, they're like 180 each, and meant for more weight rather than height.

@pullupthendown The blacked out grill on green is the way! Your truck looks great, nice work in the shell.

Looks like you have at least one kiddo, how many do you plan to sleep back there? My five year old and I spend nights in the back on ski trips, but once the second kid gets bigger and mama is coming too, we're gonna need more space!

@Arringtonpalmer I have two yougins and they fit for now. No way it will work for a full family. The wife isn’t much of a camper so it’s mainly setup for a quick overnight for myself and one of the kids. I used to have a CVT rooftop tent and that worked out well to fit everyone.

Love this, I'm doing very similar with my 05 DC. Just started my build page. Gonna have to look into the windoors upgrade for my Leer....
