i bought a 2006 tundra double cab with 4.7 engine not running with 160xxx miles. It had a check engine light for P0340 camshaft position sensor circuit and P0345 camshaft position sensor circuit. The sensor wires were crimped between 2 metals so I changed it out with a new sensor from Toyota and still don’t start. I also replaced the starter with a oem starter from Toyota and changed the fuel pump thinking it don’t work but doesn’t buzz but realized no power going to fuel pump. I need help and hoping someone ran across this problem. I read the Toyota Hanes book and says the crankshaft sensor send a signal to the relay to give power to the fuel pump. Does that sound correct? I don’t want to spend any more money that I don’t have to.

Welcome from Ct. Did you check all the wires where they were crimped? There could be a broken wire in side the shielding you can't see. Test the wires on both sides of the crimped area

The pump will only get power for about 2 seconds when the key is turned. If the engine isn't started the voltage will stop.

You can check the wiring easily enough by jumping the pump relay.

I'll get you a wiring diagram and troubleshooting chart tomorrow.

Where is the fuel pump resistor located?

I'm curious! What is listed on the problems symptoms table on Dl-452?

I'm guessing the OP's issue was probably crankshaft position sensor wiring failure. Pump won't fire up unless CPS is sending a valid signal. Too bad this post is years old.

Not sure this will help, but here's a screencap. It doesn't mention what row of the table is the one, you'll need to scan and figure it out. :D

Thank you Shifty, It seems crank but no start leads to Fuelpump Control Circuit. So far, I appear to have a shorted Fuel Pump Resistor. Once I receive the new one, I will update this post.

I dunno. Can be the crankshaft position sensor like here. OR the resistor. Or fuel pump relay. Or chewed fuel pump wires, which happens more than you'd think.

Really helps to know if you've got any fuel pressure getting to the fuel rail. Just know, the fuel pump won't actuate with the key in the ON position, only when cranking, so measure fuel pressure while cranking.

Here's a good video on fuel diagnostics:

Another great video on starting diagnostics, maybe not as applicable:

My start relay is not getting any power. Do you know where the connector joining wire harness IJ4 is located? I found IJ1, 2, and 3. But I can't find IJ4. Please advise.

A resistor is a short and should have a set resistance when checking with a VOM(volt ohm meter)

    FuelPumpResistor.jpg

Supposed to be next to IJ2/3 according to 2006 FSM

Thank you! So, practically IJ1 on the 05 Tundra, is IJ4 on the 06 Tundra. The reason I need clarification is that my starter relay is not energizing to provide power to the starter. Therefore, I need to backtrack to find the open circuit.

Thanks, how difficult is it to access IJ4 connector?

IJ4 is a 26-pin connector also, if it helps...

It’s in the cowl panel area where ECU is which means glove box should have to come out.

The only connector that I see across/above IJ2 & IJ3 seems to be a ground connector. Is that IJ4? The diagram shows a male and female connection. Do you have any visual aid (photo) that will show what it looks like? Unless it is behind heat exchanger, I do not readily see it.
