Good morning comrades, I'm sure this thread has been shared like the common cold. I purchased my tundra in March of 2015 from a private party. He had the frame inspected and coated by Toyota in March of 2014 for rus . He complained that he wanted a replacement but was turned down for it. Fast forward to this past July I notified Toyota that there was now o hole the size of my fist under the driver's door. They inspected , took pictures, and informed me that it was already serviced in 2014 and that the recall has ended. Called Toyota but was given a polite f--k you, have a nice day, not our problem. The sway bar mount separated from the frame, so I was forced to purchase a frame repair kit from safe T cap and do the repair myself. I'm a retired Toyota master technician and don't believe how they treat their customers. People spend thousands of dollars on their products, they need to stand behind them, especially when the milage is low, only 133,000. Any suggestions? I've opened another complaint with Toyota and also with the Nhtsb.

You've done pretty much all you can do. 04 wasn't a recall year only 00-03, the rest were covered under a Limited Service Campaign which as you found out expired after 12 years.

Sounds like you have done all you can do. Being that you worked for Toyota, you know the routine, once they deny it, it's pretty much game over.

Next step would be to look at patching it.

No it didn't there's no recall for an 04. It was replaced through a Limited Service Campaign, had it been a recall there wouldn't be trucks not being covered now since recalls don't expire.

Here's the communication directly from Toyota to the NHTSA.

Ah... Ok.... I didn't understand the distinction... In the end they caused damage under that program on my truck... They replaced the frame, and covered the rear axle housing, including the axle vent, with rust preventative.... Their rust preventer holds in moisture and makes things rust worse....covering the vent with it blocked it so it built up pressure.... Rusted through pinhole, combined with pressure build up... It was like a spray paint can spraying gear oil out the back....completely covered my camper that i was towing.... And that awful gear oil smell ugh.... Just finished replacing my entire rear axle housing last weekend.
