Hello, Existing Tacoma World Member who just bought a 2000 Toyota Tundra 4.7L V8 automatic from my dad, During cold starts the engine will either stall or nearly stall (dips to 200 rpm) when put into reverse. If I let it warm up for a couple minutes no issues. Is this a precursor to something greater? any maintenance I should do?

I'd check the fuel filter, my old first gen would stutter slightly when I'd start her but not to the degree your talking about. The new filter took care of that. Apart from that I'd check the air filter and butter fly valve to make sure they aren't gummed up with something.

Mine did that when the butterfly valve on the intake was dirty.

Wouldn't hurt to change the fuel filter either. If I remember from my 2000 Tundra correctly, the filter is in line, just forward if the gas tank. Was a $20 part back in the day and a 20 min job.

Yes, that's correct, attached to the drivers side frame just forward of fuel tank.

I haven't done mine before but I remember reading somewhere about purging the line pressure first. I guess it's quite a mess if you don't..

Just did it over a bucket. It's about 1/4 - 1/2 a cup that came out.

sounds like an easy and cost effective fix, thanks guys! next on my agenda. The rear springs are shot, bottom out with nothing in the bed. If I change the rear ill change the front as well. any suggestions on suspension upgrades?
