Got a 2006 DC and I'm removing all of the JBL stereo.

I really want the JL C1-650 components, but crutchfield says they won't fit.

But that's with this speaker adapter which is really deep.

If I use this bracket, would I be able to get the JL speakers to fit since they'd be more shallow?

I found the Crutchfield info for the front door speakers to be useless for my 06 DC Limited with JBL eight speaker system. They also sent the wrong adapters and wiring adapters twice. Here is a pic of the front door speaker that came out of my Tundra. You may be able to remove the JBL speaker from the OEM plastic mount and use it to get the depth needed for the speakers you want to use. If your speaker looks like the pic I can easily post a different pic or take a measurement.

Thanks! What speakers did you end up going with?

I installed Kenwood KFCP510PS 5.25 component speakers because Crutchfield site was telling me the 6.5 wouldn't fit. I ordered the speakers from Amazon prior to taking off the door panels to see what would actually fit. In hindsight I could have easily installed 6.5 components had I investigated what would actually fit vs what Crutchfield info said would fit. The Kenwood tweeters do fit nicely in the OEM location with no modifications if you remove the grill and speaker mount/shell from the tweeter and only use the tweeter speaker.
