For those that like their white trucks, that's fine. I'm not one of you.
But, despite the white paint handicap, I can at least sort of enjoy being a storm trooper. And not a fucking Disney one either.

She's a teenage girl. Get her a RAV4. Those FJ's are still really expensive from what I understand. She'll spend a fortune on gas. Hate to break it to anyone who thinks this is short term but this war is going to destabilize oil prices for a long time.

I'm not like the rest of you...i was a professional hand model, and professional hand models make sacrifices. It's something you amateur hand models will never understand.

I’m going through this now with my daughter. Of course she wants a 4Runner or a bronco but I’m leaning towards a Rav. Houston really sucks for buying cars. Dealerships are completely out of their minds with the prices they want for them and marketplace is 99.9% scammers, resellers and rebuilt titles.

6112s up front w/ 650 lb springs, 5160s in the rear, JBA UCAs, Suspension Maxx Links, ATS leafs w/ Wheeler's AAL and overload spring, Toyota Gloss Gunmetal TRD Wheels, Toyo Open Country AT3s 275/70/17

So the caveat here is that my BIL and sister ain’t short on cash. So paying 30k for a 15mpg car isn’t really gonna phase them. I think their concern is gonna be mainly the visibility issue and other safety stuff. I told my sister to get in the drivers seat and see how that blind spot feels.

Also confession - kinda hoping they buy it and I can buy it back in 10 years for cheap in oem condition with that rear locker and short wheelbase…

Mostly, but I haven't bothered to pull it off and really try to seal it yet. I suspect water is getting around the stake hole caps.

Still rocking them. We did Panhandlemonium in 4/2022 with 323k miles. Last Merustober is when I noticed the bushings already sagging. That was 10/2025 with 337k. 3.5 years and 14k miles.

I swapped the stock stuff for toytecs. Got about 1.5" lift from that.

They'd last a lot longer if you had bumpstops and didn't try to drive it like an LT truck.

Yup, this is my issue. The cheap spring compressor has enough compressing power to squish the spring, but it intrudes into the center area enough to prevent the shock body from fitting.

Yes! My front springs are noticeably softer at 238k than when I got the truck at 190k. So much so that the springs bottom out much easier than they should. Midwest roads haven’t been nice to them.

Throwing this in Lunch Table before listing elsewhere.

It's official. We're clearing out the house to list it. That means I need to offload a bunch of shit.

I can't use these NOS OEM carpets specifically for an access cab. I can take pictures in full sun if needed, but they appear light grey. in this pic I took on arrival. Still have the factory carpet retainer attached to the driver mat.

Brand new Waethertech mat set (front and rear) runs $191. These things are unobtanium. They do have a couple of spots from sitting on a shelf, but they're brand new. I'd like to get $120 + ship over here, but will probably list in the Marketplace area for $150.

Anyone need these as much as I need the $$ and to declutter?

As someone who camped in their Softopper for two years in all kinds of weather, it's a great choice if you can find a used one on the cheap. But if you're paying full price, or already have a hard top, you'd have to be a moron to go soft. You're gonna be cold and wet from time to time. Ask me how I know. You ever slep with a wet blanket in less than 50°F?
The softoper is water resistant not water proof.
You'll have water bead on the inside of the roof above you when it's storming. Move too much and it drops on you. Water always finds a way in thru the side where they meet the bed rails too.

I think they may be the same as mine, but the only one I can get to at the moment is the right rear (driver side is gone, passenger side is on the loft, and the left rear is buried in crap...TMI, I know). Can you please check your right rear to see if it's a match?

The vinyl on mine doesn't leak at all, only getting water in along the sides of the bed. I agree though, if you need a hard camper shell and expect to be able to treat a softopper like a hard camper shell, you'll be disappointed. Plenty of things that a traditional camper shell can do better, except be folded up out of the way in 5 minutes when you need to use the truck like a truck.

Yeah, don't get me wrong, I adored my Softopper for what it was. I bought it omw to my first Jamboree for $600. Prior to that, I would sleep in my passenger seat on off-roading trips, which sucked for a lot of reasons. In fair weather it's perfect, breathable, versatile, etc.
But in a down pour, that's when the water beads start to form inside the roof. We had cold rain one time at Hidden Falls that lasted all night. That was one of the most miserable nights of my life.
