I love the sound and feel of the pneumatic tools. It just feels more visceral to me when compared to battery shtuff. Using my air tools always makes me feel nostalgic. It also helps that i have an 80 gallon compressor that’s located inside a separate unit away from the inside of my shop. It’s definitely nice not to have to freak out when the pressure switch kicks on the compressor!

Would someone please help a brotha out in identifying the part numbers for the two hoses below? I looked on ecp, but still a bit befuzzled. One is pizzling out what looks to be coolant (to the throttle body?) and the other (in front), I'm certain is also toast. Also, suspect there's no need to buy OE, but rather just go to NAPA and buy a length of that size hose. Confirmation please. Thanks in advance. Edit: looks like the front might be to the PCV valve? 2nd Edit: The other is the coolant bypass hose?

I have a Vtek cordless drill I've beat the hell out of for about 7 years or so and it's been great so last year when I redid the front suspension on my FGT I picked up one of these, a Vtek 1/2" cordless with extra batteries. It works like a champ. If shopping for a cordless impact pay attention to the specs. There's a wide variance in ft-lbs.

If you prefer corded I also bought one of these Craftsman a few years ago during a Prime Day event. Not as much torque as the cordless and heavy as hell but still has a helluva kick.

I prefer the corrdless and only use the Craftsman for tire changing in the garage.

A word to the wise about Chinese air tools, they consume a lot more air than good old fashioned CP American air tools. I go to pawn shops and buy old US made air tools like CP, they last forever and don't suck air half as bad.

I've been extremely happy with my Rigid subcompact. It's one of my favorite tools. I rarely reach for my large impact anymore.

I'm not a brand hoe or brand loyalist by any means, but all of my power tools are Rigid brand and I haven't really had any issues with them. I'd like to have a beefier impact for help similar that Milwaukee Fuel but without that price tag.

I picked up my Rigid tools at a wholesale liquidation place for cheap when I was still living in an apartment. We were planning on buying a house at that time and I just starting buying tools and shit to keep in my closet until we locked the house in. (Which we did in 2021 and I'm glad I prebought all that stuff). I bought both of these kits here for about $400.00 total all in 6 years ago. There are better deals on the big bag with Home depot now for $250.00.

And the wife picked me up a new toolbox last Christmas which helped my organization a lot more (Brown Husky box). I inherited a ton of sockets and other tools from both my Grandpas that I needed to clean and organize.

It is damn hard, isn't it?

We started later, also. First one took 18mos. 2nd one took 3 mos, then lost the kid at 4mos in, less than 10 days after informing our respective employers and the family. 2nd one took 8 months.

It's weird, you spend your whole life scared to death about having an accident, then when you really want it to happen, it's like trying to win the lottery.

Early congrats! Here's to hoping it's an easy, problem-free pregnancy and delivery.

Is it just an illusion, or is the frame twisted over there?

Nothing I'm sure you couldn't fix, and great candidate for SAS.

It's really too bad nobody has devised a relocation/reduction possibility for the EVAP can on the earlier years. That damn thing takes up so much space. It'd be really cool if someone could relocate to the gas tank area like our later-year 1st gens have.

I'm more interested in what appears to be the back half of a (convertble?) slammed 67-72 C-10 in the background.

It's either just the bed with an axle underneath it, or someone chopped the top, or they have the cab and front clip off for some reason. Either way, it warrants further investigation!

Hardest thing to go through. We lost 5 in 4 years, one right after telling family/friends. That was a big part of my hiatus from the forum for a while. Went into deep depression. We were working with an IVF clinic and the cost was astronomical. We stepped back to contemplate even having kids and then a month later we were pregnant. I’m so excited even though Kaiser fucked us and accidentally told us the gender, we wanted to wait. We both had a feeling it would be a boy and I’m ecstatic about it. In escrow on our new home and can’t wait to move in. I’ll have room for all my toys on my property finally, with room to spare. Room to build a small shop and storage for the TT. Life is great right now!

Congrats man! We lost a pregnancy between each of our kids. The first one hit my wife hard. I was like, no big deal, we'll just try again! That was not well received. I was young and dumb. She was immediately grappling with a lot of feelings like failure, at nature's basics task for a women. Also the prospect she would never be able to have children. It was really hard for her to watch irresponsible, unprepared and unwanting parents having kids 2 and 3 at a pop it seemed. Why not us? After we had our son and daughter, we met a couple and became friends, then found out that they could not conceive and had spent 10s of thousands trying to make it work. The mother had bad eggs, no way for it to work unfortunately. My wife donated eggs to them twice. They were able to have a child from one of them!

That’s amazing of your wife, she’s a good person!
My fiancé had the same feelings as your wife did when we lost the second one. I felt exactly like you and said wel just try again. She fell into deep depression and was in a bad place for a while but she’s now 2 years sober, I’m 8, and the best person she can be. She’s a NICU nurse and had the same thoughts of why not her. She saw plenty of premature alcohol/drug related children at work and wondered why we can’t since they can. It was tough but everything happens for a reason and at the right time. I started my dream career 4 days before the pregnancy test. She’s happier than ever and everything is working out how we wanted.

Top of the rear shocks, and front suspension, UCA sheer bolts, stuff like that. Don't get me wrong, I'd still rather have an impact wrench when doing that work than not have it, and there is no replacement for a nice big cheater bar.

I use hand tools to break free all my suspension bits, but I'll use the impact or air drill to get them the rest of the way off. My Makita has an auto-stop too, so it's handy for getting them in most of the way and finishing off with a torque wrench.

I picked up a Makita socket wrench that sucks at breaking bolts free, but it's amazing for removing and installing nuts and bolts most of the way. I always thought they were silly and a waste of money and then it popped up for sale and I figured what the hell. Now I love using the damned thing and I really appreciate the fact that it's not very torquey so I don't have to worry too much about stripping stuff with it.
I think the Milwaukee version gets better reviews, but I probably have at least 20 Makita 18v batteries and no desire to start all over with another brand. If I'm going to waste money buying new tools and batteries it'll be for more of the 40v stuff.
