I’m jealous of your snow! Non of our ski resorts are open and there’s nothing on the ground. Doesn’t look like we’ll have a snowy winter which is why this sled has a $6k discount, well and it’s a 24 model. It’s a rmk pro 850 165 track with all the bells and whistles. If I wasn’t starting a new job and can’t ask for time off for a few trip to UT or MT, I would’ve brought this home on a new 2 place trailer today. I’m trying to be smart but I’m so very tempted!!

Bummer, that's lost money for them.
The snow has been settling here though, so not much issue with rush hour outside the shop yesterday

Bottom one is the earlier style, top one is the later style. Maybe some blend over in that year.

Also, the bottom one was plucked straight from the Camry. As were the interior and exterior door handles. And a host of other parts I’m sure.

I don't venture into the 3rd gen section often but did tonight. Yikes. It seems things are worse with that engine than Toyota wants to admit. Multiple reports of folks having their engines replaced by the recall and then having the replacement engine blow as well. Plus all kinds of other random issues including fires, fuel leaks, and sunroofs randomly breaking.

Disappointing to see Toyota quality take a nose dive.

I blame the field of engineering today. One of the few professions where you’re over educated for too little pay. It’s a thankless job. I steer people clear of the profession when I’m able.

Can anyone recommend a spring compressor for 650-700 lb springs that won't potentially kill me? Most of the kits I looked at on Amazon had lots of reviews with snapped compressors, but I also don't want to spend several hundred dollars on something that I may only use a few times.

You should be able to find a local shop that could swap in the springs in 30 mins and should charge you next to nothing. Or rent one from Napa or O'Reilly's

That's my fall back plan. I was hoping to be able to compress them myself to adjust the clips to fine tune ride height.

High clearance bumper with lower bed protection, plus a spare tire that’s still looks tucked up pretty good for ground clearance. Looks like a good design to me.

I understand exactly the reasoning why (just because i think the same way), but just keep the stock steel wheel and forget about a matching aluminum.

Start reading reviews. I always read the most negative ones first.

Dirty Deeds injectors, Addco rear sway, AEM dry flow air filter, K & N cobbled intake tube w/OE filter box, last ever set of Stan's Try-Y headers, Borla full custom exhaust, front level with 5100s, and lots of electronics.
Can confirm. Got one last year and I greatly enjoy using it. Feels much safer than the chincy rental ones from the local parts store. Made quick work of my Bilstein 5100 install.

There's still a degree of the thought that you are holding a kinetic bomb when using a spring compressor. But using this tool feels like a safer bomb.

This is the version that I have, but looks identical to previous post.

Yup, I always go straight for the photos and the 1 star reviews. You also get a lot of idiots that shouldn't be allowed to use tools leaving 1 star reviews, and a lot of 5 star reviews because they got the product for free to review it(pad the ratings).
I'm sure they all come out of the same factory. Thanks, I had been looking at that style and hearing a first hand review helps convince me to go with it.

I’d also lube up the threads on the tool with grease to help alleviate the heat and friction. At least that’s what i do with any of my threaded pullers.

Yeah, I'll grease it up and run it through the full travel a few times before using it. See how crappy the threads are.

It's pretty damn comical actually. I'll be working around in the shop, and happen to glance out the window, and they are just casually walking along watching me. But as soon as I stop and look at them... they are like OH SHIT, and start moving!

2000 got the "Camry style" wheel. In 2001 they switched over to the newer style dimple wheel. Fun fact for anyone with a 2000, a Camry wheel will bolt in but it will not hold the stock Tundra airbag. I got all the way into a steering wheel swap on a 2000 only to have to put things back the way they were since the Tundra airbag won't fit.

My speculation is because you drive like you have long travel, when you don't.

Might as well get you some octagons, since you can adjust the SPCs.
