Seems time to go OEM or bust. Didn’t use
Many that weren’t OEM but already having issues with some that aren’t.
Already replaced tie rod end that had just under 3K miles on tundra, now belt needs replaced.

I’m ordering Toyota belts for both since they unable to find HD number for the 4 runner. (They added the digits for it but no longer showing as something available), and will give me a backup belt for the Tundra.

It’s really annoying to have put all the work in and now have to tear it back down because part jacked up more stuff, and don’t want to risk it happening on the tundra too.

The newer Expeditions and I'm sure many other vehicles have a welded in plate around those bolt holes to, I assume, keep this exact thing from happening. Sucks that you can't get anything substantial in there since the opening is so small.
Mitsuboshi seems to make the best and longest lasting belts I've seen. That may be exactly what belt you get if you order OEM. Usually more expensive but last longer.

Didn’t do anything to the tundra today other than top off coolant. I did fix my wife’s odyssey. Replaced the high pressure power steering hose that was weeping ps fluid everywhere. That dang car man. Bleeding me dry one minor repair at a time. I just can’t stomach the thought of buying a new car right now. Cheaper to keep her…

On the bright side I’m getting more confident diagnosing and fixing stuff. It sure is nice to be able to repair your own stuff and spend a third of the money to know it was done right with high quality parts.

Two questions, I'm trying to figure out which radiator cap to purchase 16401-20353 (lower cost, EPC says fits my vehicle based on VIN) or PTR04-00000-03 (higher cost and Serra Toyota's web page says fits my vehicle) The description for the first one is "Radiator Cap Sub-Assembly (#16401-20353)" the second one says Radiator cap. I can't image Toyota selling the spring and sealing rubber separately but is that what it means by sub assembly? Someone here will know the answers tagging shifty just so he sees it shifty`

Second question, and I'm sure this has been answered many times before, what coolant should I use? Get it only from Toyota or is there coolant from the auto parts store that is the same stuff?

I'm making a second order from Serra before the sale ends as I want to replace the radiator and cap soon. I will order the Aisin timing belt kit from Rock Auto as it is less expensive than the dealer even with the discount and I've had good luck with them. All that work might happen weekend of Black Friday. Timing Belt/Water Pump were done 41,000 miles ago but it has been 10 years so its time.

On the radiator caps: I ordered some recently, The first you listed is a TRD which has a higher pressure (15lb vs 12lb oem for stock)/boiling point.
Both said exact fit for my vehicle.
Do you want, or need the higher pressure for your system? If not I would go with the lower pressure stock oem to save wear on the system, and I would not put the higher pressure TRD on unless all seals, o-rings, and radiator is new.
    Toyota SLL coolant.
Personally I only use Aisain, or Toyota coolant.
The scamazon link to radiator cap I wouldn't trust

I have no idea how that link goes to Amazon. All I did was type the numbers as I got them from Serra Toyota. Very odd what our computers do these days. I like your advice. Thank you. The PRT04-00000-03 on Serra says 18.5 psi so that is way higher than 12 and you're correct it could cause problems. Where are you purchasing your coolant, the dealer?

At first, I bought a green Gates belt. Sent it back because it was made in China. Just me... Replaced with a made in USA Bando. Interestingly enough, the belt I took off was a Toyota-branded Bando, as was a new one at the dealership.
