It's been done with lots of other seats. A guy who went by SeanPistol in other forums swapped in some nice Subaru WRX heated seats. Just requires some fabrication on the slider.

On my never ending to-do list is mastercraft seats. It's just number 109 and I'm currently serving number 34.

A quick and easy seat fab. Try putting a few washers under the front frame bolts on each front seat. (2 per seat). The effective tilt with two washers yielded about 1/4” tilt (front to back). Changed that flat seat feeling and gives a tucked in feel. Takes about 5 minutes.

I have bench seats, really want two suspension seats and a center console instead. It's just far in the future.

These are the 2nd row seats. (We reuse the front seats and get rid of the 2nd row in them at work so they were freebies).

Did you end up swapping out your bench seat? I'd like to do the same and get the center console with drink holders.

Maybe I'm weird but I find the seats in my 02 to be very comfortable. I hate leather.

Same here. The other vehicle has leather and I prefer the fabric of the Tundra. Try putting a couple washers under your front seat tracks to give it a little tilt. Unscrew your 2 front seat track bolts and slide some washers under . Re-insert the bolts through the track and washers and tighten. Do not do the rear bolts.

    Gives a more nestled feeling.

Funny, I have the two fronts / console & wish I had a bench. Dunno, I just like a cloth bench in the front of a truck.

I swapped fabric seats out of 2002 Sequoia for leather seats from a 2005.

The only issue is the power seats do not plug and play. Anyone have a hack for that or a how to on swapping power bases?

Other than that the two front seats and second row bolted up perfect.

    Thx.

Raphael, did you have any issues with the airbag sensors when you swapped them out? Also, I'm looking to swap out the bench in my 2006 for buckets from my 2000. Any idea about bolt holes lining up? Thanks

    Kjlonghill,

As far as airbags, I honestly didn’t mind if they still worked or not. There were no lights activated on dash cluster informing of any issues. I doubt the airbags work.

In my scenario the bolt holes matched up perfect. I would assume if your going from bench to bucket you are missing bolt holes for the bucket seat. So you would have to take a look under the seat to see if toyota gave you the option or if your going to have to drill them yourself.

Where my issue came was hooking up molex connector from car to seat...the connector fit just fine, but upon closer inspection the color wires did not match up (no power). I ended up cutting of the old connector and rewiring it to the new...sounds like a lot but really wasn’t.

Raphael, I have a couple of stupid questions: Do the bolts that go through the floor have nuts on the back or do they go into threaded holes (just in case there's nothing there) and what's the molex connector for? I'm picking up the 2006 on Saturday and want to swap out the seats before I sell my 2000 (both V8 access cabs). Thanks

    Just into threaded holes

Molex is just the type of connector (the male and female connections used when connecting a power seat to the vehicle is a “molex connector.”

Thanks, Raphael-- just swapped them out-- all the holes were perfect but when I was done, I couldn't figure out how to swap out the wires to the seatbelt and to the track-- I'm in MA and need to get it inspected since I just bought it so I swapped the seats back-- long day! The hardest part was getting the rusted bolts out

I'm going to do some more research on taking apart the seats themselves and hopefully after I get it inspected, I can remount the wires from one seat harness to the other. I don't see any wires going to an internal sensor but there is one mounted to the base of the seat itself in the 2006 so that may be a weight sensor. The 2006 has a 6-pin connector that splits off into a "Y" and from there goes to the track (to sense the distance the driver is from the airbag), the base of the seat, and 2 separate wires going to the seatbelt which may go further. The 2000 only has a 2-wire going to the seatbelt so it's a much simpler system.
