So I made the move from a manual off road taco to a sr5 tundra. Really wanted the tundra to begin with but couldn't justify the price. Had the taco for about a year and used the equity to make the upgrade.

Any How, I've had the tundra for about 24 hours now and love it in just about every way more than the taco. Couple things I noticed seem to be a slight down grade: both screens in the tundra seem to be a bit lower resolution than the Taco, the steering wheel isn't as nice, the infotainment screen in the taco had a nicer hard plastic screen where the tundra has a soft screen, no rear locker. Also the sound system seems less crisp than the Tacoma.

Apart from that absolutely love the added space, v8 power, rear rolling window and I'm surprised how small the truck drive even compared to the taco.

The ride in the tundra is better on the road where the taco seemed softer and dived on braking.

Plan on getting a tonneau cover and clazzio leather seats asap. Loving the upgrade So far. Here are a few pics. Would love thread others impressions too if you've made the same move.

Welcome! Cavalry blue is the best color...but I am biased. I never owned a Taco, but I was very very close to buying one. Im so glad I didn't for the reasons you listed above. And your complaints about the Tundra are exactly what every other Tundra owner complains about.
