...I dislike it. Love the leather, hate that it looks like I'm 85 and driving around in something from the 70s.

It won't take much to fix it, I want to simply paint/vinyl the trim, then buy a new wheel. A TRD or Limited wheel would be plug-and-play, and about $700.

Can you guys post what your TRD, Limited, Platinum steering wheels look like, as well as the interior trim?

Has anyone else fixed this aesthetically unpleasing mis-step?

    Thanks!

Love my wood grain wheel!! Hell that is the only reason I bought a 1794 over a Platinum is honestly the wood wheel. My previous vehicle was a Denali with one and growing up driving 95-98 square body Z71s I always wanted to switch those out for an Escalade wheel.

If you have black trim on the steering wheel, it would like so much nicer with the wood grain. The silver and wood grain clash. I want to replace all the bright silver with nice clean black.

Here's my Tacoma/4Runner TRD leather wheel, plug and play. Found used on Ebay for $200, could try junkyards too.

I love the look of the woodgrain, but I don't care for how it FEELs on the steering wheel. I'd much prefer a fully leather wrapped wheel.

truck2.jpg This is what I did to take care of the wood trim I am still trying to find a steering wheel for cheap and a new Shift knob but I really like the way the Carbon Fiber Vinyl looks with the leather.

I got mine from a newer 4Runner. They swap right over and you don't have to worry about "paint"

I'm fixing to hydro dip all of mine and I'm going to try the steering wheel wood as well. Not sure if it will work or not but worth a shot

2020. The nice part is that the buttons also match the paint and are interchangeable as well

I second this question. That looks amazing.

I am now on the hunt for a leather wrapped wheel. I am not a fan of the fake wood steering wheel trim. It feels flimsy.

It was a lot of work and there are imperfections this was my second attempt at it and i think if i did it again i would get it perfect. Just have patience and it will work out.

Why would you buy the 1794 if you hated the interior? He’ll that’s the only reason I got it over the platinum! I didn’t want the black leather

I bought mine because of price, color, and location. Price was right, silver exterior is easier to keep clean, and it was at a dealer a half mile from home. I like the orange/brown leather but the fake wood trim isn't my favorite.
