This will be a chronicle of my build. I'm new here, and this is the first Toyota and Tundra I've ever owned. So far, other than the amount of plastic and chrome on the truck, I'm very happy with my decision.

TRD Pro Heritage grille, lower front TUNDRA bumper, and matte black tailgate handle (already installed, more on that later) arrived yesterday!

    20221017_163605.jpg

Didn't have time to de-install the current grille, and weather is not cooperating until late tomorrow so we'll plan for Wed-Sat this week. Tufskinz inserts were added for a clean look!

Completed the rear bumpers this weekend. Decided to plastidip and they actually came out pretty damn good. I ended up doing 10 coats altogether with about 15-20mins in between coats. The key here (for me anyways) was to go slow and let the layers build.

    1st coat - a literal mist

Going a bit out of order here... I'll get the hang of it, I promise.

TINT was the first thing I took the truck to a shop for. Ceramic all around

70% windshield, 35% fronts, and down to 20% for the rears.

Here in Massikastan, 35% is the legal limit for front windows. Pricing was higher for ceramic vs. non. Makes quite the difference in terms of the amount of heat, def. recommend it.

Front bumper de-installed! TRD swap in process. :eek2: Wasn't that bad. Just go easy when separating the fender flares and front L and R body panels from the truck.

    20221020_112904~2.jpg

Dropped the 3 stash pieces and the two L and R body panels to be wrapped this afternoon. Should hopefully be picking them up tomorrow! Decided to also wrap the L and R bumpers for two reasons

    1. Before I started this morning, I noticed some small white scratches on the driver's side bumper.. Looks like it could've been my daughter's bike that caused it.

    2. I figure at least the wrap will add some short-term paint protection to the front.

    20221020_143011~2.jpg

Picked up the Wescott camera bracket as well and it's a perfect fit. More photos to come hopefully Saturday once I'm done!!! :smokertransformer:

Carista OBD2 arrived today and man this thing is excellent for the price. Plugged it in and in less than 5 minutes I had turned off FAKE V8 and the PULL UP PULL UP seat belt chime!

It also saved my ass on the 18+ codes the truck threw having a hissy fit about driving around with no bumper for a day... Yikes. In my defense, I knew this was going to happen. Had no other choice in getting the stash and bumper pieces to my wrap guy!

Needless to say, plan your grille swap accordingly.

There's a good amount to mess with for customization via the app.

    TRD Heritage Grille pics tomorrow!

What did you put on the back to get to 20%? The ceramic is AMAZING for blocking heat! It feels like you roll up your door! I’m about to get my Pro done (just got the truck Thursday)…found a guy in Fitchburg I used last time. Where did you go?

From a fellow Masshole in Massikastan that looks awesome! I've been trying to get some folks to grab some of the 3D printed TRD pro brackets I printed out, but no one has bitten on the FS post in the classifieds yet (except a couple for the TRD OR grill).

Are you in eastern or western or middle MA?

Front Grille is complete! Of course I've already dinged the stash backing into it while blowing leaves this morning.. Looks like it can be fixed.

It's Suntek Ceramic IR.. I've been told it's in the 20% range. Dark enough for me and looks great

Thought it matched the grille better and I'd rather the flat look.

I'll be listing several items in the BUY/SELL/TRADE section this week. Local pickup is preferred (MA/NH/S.VT/S.ME). Willing to meet within 50-100 miles or so.

    Items so far:

    Silver 1794 Grille
    Chrome Front TUNDRA Valence
    Chrome Tailgate Handle

    Set of (4) 20" Wheels/w tires mounted - 1000 miles.

To my knowledge, there's only one Carista OBD2 adapter. This is not a Toyota-specific device

Think I'm sold on the 295/70/18 Toyo A/T III

They're essentially the same size as the 35x12.5. The biggest difference is Load E vs. F and roughly $66 per tire. Don't need load F tires so I think I'll save the $$. I'm not going to split hairs over a 12.5" vs. 11.8" width

Installed my scanner antenna a few days back. Wiring into the truck was super easy.

    20221026_104434.jpg

There are two firewall grommet locations, one on each side L and R of the Truck:

    https://youtu.be/oBov3o2fEDM

Using a fishtape made this quick and painless. I'm still up in the air on how to mount the scanner and may also add a HAM/CB down the road.

LMAO, man that 50 posts mess is killing me. I’ve been lurking up here for years, but would really like to sell my Tundra at some point. I’m over 50 posts, but still won’t let me post anything. You must be a detective?
