I have read about the issues with 2016's integrated brake controllers and I was wondering if this was still an issue with the 2017's? I will be getting my TT out of storage in a couple months and will be the first time towing it with my new Tundra. I do have my brake controller from my Tacoma I would put in if the issues are still present. Thanks.

Some people don't have problems, many people do. I would try it with your trailer in tow first. Be sure that you're testing where you get up to speed and can simulate a panic stop without any real traffic so nothing is at risk.

Ok, I will test it out and see how it goes. Thanks.

Just wanted to give an update. This past weekend I pulled my TT out of storage and got it hooked up to my Tundra. The IBC didn't seem like it was working at first but after a while it seemed to work. I couldn't hear the trailer brakes make the clicking noise when they engage at first, but after a while of driving I started to back it into my driveway and I could hear the brake click when I hit the brake. My brother in law had a theory that the brake controller is working but only applies pressure according to the driving conditions such as going down a hill or speed. Not sure if this is the case for the IBCs in the Tundras or not. I didn't tow the trailer very far. I think I may tow it further next weekend to get a good feel for it and see if the IBC is indeed working this way.

Just tested mine oem IBC on my 17 CM Pro and everything was working properly. Setting was with Electric Over Hydraulic setting. Braking was even a bit over powering and had to lower to 4 or 4.5(@5 is default). Hopefully the 2017 model Toyota fix any issues with the IBC. Best of luck to the rest of you!

Thanks, this is good information. There's no apparent rhyme or reason about how or why some seem to work well and others don't.
