Is there a way to have the display layout show the default maps program and your radio in a split screen? I know when I plug in my Android auto it does that but I was trying to figure out if I can do it without my phone being connected.

Nope. Toyota refuses to acknowledge that there is so much screen real estate for some reason.

There's no way to edit the layout of factory screens that I know of. It's something I wrote about in the recent Toyota survey about the infotainment UI. The screen real estate on both the 8" & 14" screens is VERY poorly utilized.

kind of crazy too. I just drove a new Toyota Marai and it has a smaller screen, but you could do exactly this with it! Should be easy to copy the GUI over to other cars/trucks!

This seems so odd they would do that. Hell, I can split the little 7" stock screen of my 2014.

The Mirai is using the old style of infotainment. I think Tundra is the first model with the new system and newer Toyotas and Lexus, like the new RX, are using the same system.
