i within the past few months got a 6” pioneer NeX, it glitched a lot and the awesome ppl at crutchfeild of course made good and sent me a comparable Kenwood, I was alway bitter they’re was no Tesla style for our years, today I came across this unit and am wondering if anyone here has one? Heard of these? I’m happy with my unit but these look awesome

My issue is the old version of android (4.4 on the ones there). However there is one at aliexpress that has 6.0 so should be good for a little while longer.

Thanks yea I tried the Tesla search here and found nothing so I figured I’d see. Kameleon what does the android version dictate? I have a iPhone and prolly will be sticking with that but am curious to the shortfalls Incase I go this way. If I do get one I guess I’ll do a something to try to answer some questions, I emailed rhino radios and they got back to me within a few hours with answers (on a Sunday night) so that makes me feel better about it. It sounds like all our stock steering wheel buttons are retained along with the BU camera/sonar/BT mic. Which are my top things, does anyone see any short falls that are glaring? The android thing but what does that mean?

Honestly the only thing the newer version of android would get you is possibly more stable, able to use more ram as the newer versions are built for 64 bit where the older ones are 32 bit only, and possibly more app compatibility. Being that the old one is still 4.4.4 it SHOULD still be compatible with most of the apps you would want to run on there. Since they design the interface and all to be run on whatever version android is installed it should be fine either way. I just like having more memory for running tasks, especially when you are dealing with multimedia. I would love to see one put in a Gen2 tundra and see what, if any, issues there are. I would do it but it will be a bit before I can have that kind of cash laying around.

I’m going to give myself one for Christmas and order it tmw. I’m not the most tech savvy person so I’ll do my best to after I install it to learn the in/outs, I’m sure more savvy people will show theyres off. Then I gotta get lifted to atleast 5” cause these 35x12.5”R20 are killing me on a 3.5” lift, i need a football field size area to do a U turn or to parallel park it takes 30moves. Fml
